CtA: Panzer Elite - New Mission Amblève River & M4A1 “Late Sherman”
Hello, Tank Commanders!
We are back with a new content update for Call to Arms: Panzer Elite! Today’s update introduces the M4A1 (75) “Late Sherman” and a new US Conquest mission: Amblève River.
Alongside these additions, we are bringing you cruise control and improvements to AI navigation, controller support, performance, and battlefield audio.
Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports throughout Early Access. Here is a closer look at what is arriving in this update!
New US Conquest Mission: Amblève River
German troops have occupied Remouchamps and the surrounding area, cutting us off from the main Allied force across the Amblève River.
We need to find and secure an intact bridge to reconnect with our forces, but the enemy is defending every crossing.
Expect heavy resistance and move quickly before the route is sealed.
New Allied Armor: M4A1 (75) “Late Sherman”
The Sherman family grows with the arrival of the M4A1 (75) “Late Sherman”. This addition to the American arsenal brings another 75mm option to the battlefield, complete with dedicated crew animations, vehicle effects, and audio.
The M4A1 also replaces the M4A3 in German campaign missions set before September 1944, bringing the opposing American armor closer to the period represented.
Cruise Control
Long drives across the battlefield just became a little more comfortable. Activate cruise control to maintain your current driving speed without holding the throttle, leaving you free to concentrate on steering and watching your surroundings. Your cruise control status and target speed are displayed on the HUD.
AI & Vehicle Improvements
We are fully aware that the AI is still not where it needs to be. We remain deeply committed to making constant, incremental improvements with each update until we achieve the standard we are aiming for.
- Vehicles can now break through destructible walls by continuously pushing against them, even after losing speed. Keep driving forward to break through successive walls or free your vehicle from a building.
- Improved vehicle pathfinding, reversing, and obstacle avoidance, including navigation around wrecked vehicles.
- Fixed cases where AI paths could loop or send vehicles in the wrong direction.
- Improved infantry movement after leaving cover and addressed units getting stuck while turning toward targets.
- Fixed reverse steering on the Stuart.
- Adjusted bazooka accuracy and M1 gun spread.
HUD, Controls & Menus
- Added options to show or hide hit markers, kill markers, the reload indicator, reward points, and kill reward medals.
- Added gamepad look response curve presets.
- Improved keyboard and gamepad menu navigation, with additional audio feedback.
- Fixed settings sliders that could not be adjusted with a keyboard or gamepad.
- Improved hangar navigation and fixed issues when adding or removing vehicles.
- You now receive popups letting you know if someone left or disconnected from a multiplayer match.
- Updated control hints and fixed missing controller icons.
- Added a red warning glow when no repair kits remain.
- Wheeled vehicles now correctly show wheels in the vehicle HUD diagram instead of tracks.
- Added kill-screen icons for infantry anti-tank weapons.
- Fixed lingering minimap icons for destroyed or inactive units, incorrect icon rotation, and disappearing compass markers.
Audio & Visuals
- Fixed the endless machine-gun shooting sound bug.
- Added cannon trigger sounds and adjusted interior weapon audio levels.
- Fixed resupply sound for clients.
- Updated environmental ambience and vehicle audio balance.
- Improved vehicle track effects and fixed gaps in tracks left by slow-moving vehicles.
- Corrected terrain material artifacts, floating scenery, road gaps, and foliage issues across several maps.
Performance & Stability
- Optimized the minimap, compass, aiming HUD, mission scripts, and vehicle effects.
- Improved processing of vehicle tracks and environmental interactions.
- Fixed Field HQ points not being restored correctly from saved games and corrected respawn availability checks.
- Fixed mission trigger state handling when loading checkpoints.
- Addressed crashes involving older keybinding settings, inventory serialization, and vehicle effects.
Important Fixes
- Fixed La Caplainerie Progression Block
- Depending how you progressed through the mission there was a block that some players encountered. Thanks to player reports we were able to isolate this issue and fix it.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to hearing how your platoons fare at the Amblève River!
See you on the battlefield!
