Surfboards, Fishing Controls & Gameplay Improvements Update
Update - v0.3.6-ea.3
This update makes the Surfboards on the beach fully playable, introduces major improvements to Fishing Rod controls, and includes several multiplayer, UI, audio, and gameplay fixes.
Surfboards — Ride the Waves
The Surfboards on the beach can now be picked up and used!
- Pick up a Surfboard and enter the water to start surfing.
- Press Space to switch between:
- Lying down
- Standing
While lying down:
- Use W + Mouse to paddle.
While standing:
- Use the Mouse to steer.
- Catch waves to gain speed.
Added large waves traveling from the open ocean toward the shore.
Added warnings for approaching waves.
Improved the surfing camera.
Improved character poses while surfing.
Improved water effects.
Improved surfing sounds.
Added a shared Surfboard icon.
Fixed several Surfboard collision issues.
Fixed vibration-related issues.
Fixed Surfboard localization issues.
Fishing Rod Improvements
Fishing controls have received a major overhaul.
- Added improved gamepad support.
- Directional input is now more forgiving.
- Pull direction is now shown consistently and no longer depends on warning indicators.
- Added the current interaction button icon to the catch/collection screen.
- Improved casting preview.
- Improved Fishing Rod sounds.
- Removed the flashing red indicator from the casting marker.
- Added new Fishing Rod settings for:
- Reeling
- Casting power
- Input sensitivity
- Reduced motion
Improved multiplayer synchronization while fishing.
Fixed issues related to fish delivery in multiplayer.
Fixed several cases where the Fishing Rod could become stuck.
Gameplay & UI Fixes
- Fixed x1 / x2 / x3 stack indicators appearing in front of the Tablet while the Tablet was open.
- Fixed the Trident sometimes colliding with walls or objects behind the player while being thrown.
- Fixed the GastroPan placement sound at the Chef Desk playing for players who did not perform the action.
- The sound now only plays for the player placing the GastroPan.
Fixed Custom Sushi prepared by the Sushi Chef appearing as “Mackerel Uramaki” when added to a stack.
