Echoes of Elysium

June 24 - Large Update

Loric Games, Inc.

Overview

v0.19.0 is all about feel. We’ve overhauled how your airship moves through the world, wind and drift are now core to the flight experience. You’ll feel the push and pull of headwinds and tailwinds, see your ship’s drift when you ease off the throttle, and have brand-new instruments on your HUD to keep you informed.

Alongside flight, we’ve introduced a full Guidebook system with notification badges to help you track what’s new, made major strides in stability and performance, and squashed a long list of bugs based directly on your feedback.

Overall, this update is about making flight more immersive, giving you better tools to understand the world, and making the game more stable moment to moment.

Wind & Drift

Wind is no longer just visual, it’s a real force. Headwinds will slow you down, tailwinds will push you forward, and crosswinds will nudge you off course. When you let go of the throttle, your ship now drifts instead of stopping dead. Flight should feel more alive and more rewarding to master.

Added neutral-throttle drift, your ship drifts realistically when you release the throttle New wind gauge on the Vehicle HUD with color-coded needle: red for headwind, yellow for sidewind, green for tailwind Throttle thrust radial and idle-needle indicators, see your thrust output and coasting state at a glance Debris now responds to wind for more immersive environments Tuned wind particle emission and trail counts for cleaner visuals

Vehicle HUD & Flight Instruments

Your cockpit just got a lot more useful. New gauges give you real-time feedback on hover state and liftium levels, and we’ve reorganized the HUD layout so the information you need is easier to read at a glance.

New Liftium Gauge and Hover Gauge, monitor fuel levels and hover state in real-time Map glyph added to the Vehicle HUD for quick orientation “Lifters” renamed to “Float” across the HUD for clarity, floating is no longer dependent on lifters being physically on the ship Player HUD layout adjusted for better readability

Guidebook, Journal & Notification Badges

The new Guidebook gives you a place to learn about game mechanics as you discover them, and notification badges now appear across the Guidebook, crafting stations, and the airship Build Menu so you always know when something new is available.

Brand-new Guidebook system with categorized entries to help players learn game mechanics Journal and Guidebook layout overhaul, improved readability, scrollbar support, and consistent entry ordering Notes system revived (v1) New notification badges across Guidebook entries, crafting recipes, and the airship Build Menu with persistent unread tracking Fixed notification badges not clearing on processor recipes and spurious badges on settings tabs

Fixes & Stability

A major focus of this patch has been performance and crash fixes. We’ve addressed several sources of world-streaming hitches, fixed a VSync bug that was locking players to 30fps, and resolved a number of crashes reported by the community.

Multiple crash fixes including VoxelEngine.dll, async stage loads, navigation, and game hanging on exit Fixed VSync-off setting being ignored, players were previously force-locked to 30fps Major world-streaming hitch pass, spread destruction across frames, budgeted zone-LOD per tick, throttled voxel thread pool, and routed prefabs through the pooler Moved entity interpolation to per-frame updates for smoother movement Implemented progression server voxel LOD for better server performance Visual fixes, resolved black spots on distant terrain, improved visibility within clouds, and fixed biome cluster volumes Creature and physics cleanup, airship navmesh fixes, suppressed root motion on throw, adjusted enemy lighting for readability New player skiff spawn improvements and updated hull configurations Audio fixes, Wwise decay curve stack overflow fix, suppressed unnecessary error logging, and general audio tweaks Fixed power jump getting stuck Disabling the Sled/Hunter for now Various string updates and translation fixes
