September Devlog & 0.3.3 Update
Hello, good evening to all!
September is coming to an end—and what a month it’s been! A lot of changes have been made to the game; personally, I find it more enjoyable to play this way, and it’s also more stable, which is great!
This month I was able to add the new gear, including ballistic armor. I took the opportunity to tweak the workflow for adding gear a bit—you won’t notice it in-game, but from a dev perspective, it’s much better.
For now, the armor doesn’t serve much of a purpose, but having it there lets me test and validate upcoming updates—including the addition of aggressive AI other than zombies! It’s very exciting; I’m working on some cool little updates regarding the AI, and I hope you’ll enjoy them.
I also took this opportunity to update the roadmap, since the project has been in Early Access for almost a year now—and it’s not over yet! I’m not going to reveal the roadmap just yet because not everything is perfect yet, but overall, we’re still heading more toward a hardcore open world than a Tarkov-like extraction shooter. Even though I want to keep the concept of extraction and camps, I’m thinking of adding more outdoor activities and expanding the map.
But we’re not there yet!
For the month of October, I’m going to tackle the first round of AI testing, so I’ll be adding guards capable of shooting at players and zombies. They’ll have their own gear that can be looted after they die. This will allow me to test the AI with their gear and shooting behavior before adding—in what will likely be version 0.4, coming at the end of the year—AI that will actually move around the map!
All of this is really exciting, and I can't wait—I hope you are, too!!
Update 0.3.3, featuring new gear, will be released on October 1 for the Fall Sale.
Until then, take care, and feel free to join the Discord channel, where I post more regularly than here.
See you later!
