Garbanzer is the name for people who enjoy Garbanzo Quest by the way, I came up with it just now.
Anyways, I'm here to let y'all know I've been working on a new game called SUPER DEBT! Where Garbanzo Quest is very cute and friendly, This game is... quite the opposite haha. I love learning new things, which includes exploring new themes and moods.
SUPER DEBT! is a bullet-hell roguelike where everything costs money! And I mean everything! Every bullet you fire? That's a dollar. Every second of clean air? There goes another dollar! And don't even get me started on the cost of healthcare... In SUPER DEBT! your ultimate goal is pay off your ever increasing debt. You will constantly be making decisions regarding your short-term and long-term survival. Do you withdraw extra cash from your savings to increase your odds this run? Or do you put what you can towards your debt in hopes of finally paying it off someday?
Despite the horror/heavy-metal theming and genre of SUPER DEBT! it is more similar to Garbanzo Quest than you might think! One of the core strengths of Garbanzo Quest I believe is its clever level design. SUPER DEBT! may be a different genre but you will recognize the very considered routine of introducing ideas and building on them and combining them in clever ways. Also, SUPER DEBT! takes place in an alternate universe to Garbanzo Quest's, so you may recognize some familiar faces!
I've been working on SUPER DEBT! for almost a year now. I've gotten this far by doing things frugally and alone, but I'd love to hire some friends to help me make the game bigger, better, and faster! I'm very grateful for Garbanzo Quest performing well enough to pay my own bills, but if I want to hire help I'll need to raise some cash! So I'll be launching a Kickstarter within the next few months to do just that!
Please consider "following" the Kickstarter on the pre-launch page to be notified when it launches!
If you can't afford to back the game, but still want to help there are plenty of other ways to do so! Wishlisting SUPER DEBT!, or sharingthe Kickstarter campaign with yourrich and very generous friend are both great ideas!
