Dev Talk: A Sneak Peak at the Design Materials

Today, I'd like to give you a sneak peak at some of the design materials for HARD EDGE - WAR ZONE!

Characters

Here's a look at all the character sheets.

For all the characters, we first went through all the materials we have for each from the first HARD EDGE game. Then we turned that into an updated character sheet for the 3D model artists to use as reference.

For example, here is some of the references we have from the original HARD EDGE of Michelle:

Logo

For the game logo, our lead 2D artist says they took care to give the impression of a near-future battlefield look while keeping in the original HARD EDGE logo.

It took a few tries to get there, as you can see here.

Cards

It was also important to design the cards to match the HARD EDGE - WAR ZONE aesthetic!

Our lead 2D artist tells me that they were particular about using textures of materials that wouldn't feel out of place in a battlefield.

The COMMON cards are bronze, UNCOMMONs are steel, and RARE cards are based on titanium. EPIC cards are army print!
