In Verdant Valley there's a new structure to build called the Hero's Hollow .
This is a 100% optional dungeon with a permanent upgrade at the end. If you're currently on your first playthrough, I would recommend trying this sometime after Dungeon 2. If you've already beaten the game, you can do it for funsies. Think of it like the Gerudo Training Grounds in Ocarina of Time. You're totally fine skipping it if you don't feel like doing it.
Some additional background / post Dungeon 3 spoilers: This dungeon was originally where you get the Fairy Slinger, but I ended up replacing it with the Flooded Castle sequence. I had to modify a couple of things just so that you can't cheese it with a certain late-game item (iykyk).

Reduced the amount of MP required to use the ability obtained at the Dojo from 4 to 1.
