Patch Notes | Black Box Launch & MOD Branch Update

Hello, controllers!

The Black Box mode in Mini Airways is now live! Thank you to everyone who took part in the beta. You can now take over an air traffic control session already in progress, tackle daily scenarios, and share your saved scenarios with friends to see how you each handle the same airspace.

Scenario Support: Take Over a Busy Airspace

Open Black Box from the main menu and select a scenario to take over and begin your shift.

Successfully handle a total of 50 takeoffs and landings after taking over to complete the Scenario Support challenge. Assessing the existing traffic and airspace, then planning the sequence of takeoffs and landings, is the key to a smooth handover.

Daily Challenges and Leaderboards

Black Box refreshes its support maps on a daily schedule. You can retry the day's challenges to improve your best result, or select Get Scenario to try more scenarios.

The Global and Friends leaderboards track your challenge results:

• Daily leaderboard (Today's Support Flights): Records your highest number of flights successfully handled on maps marked with a star (★) only.
• Weekly leaderboard (Weekly Successful Aid): Counts the number of different scenarios you have successfully supported that week. Maps do not need to be marked with a star. Completing the same scenario more than once only counts once.

The weekly leaderboard resets every Monday, based on UTC+8.

Save Scenarios and Share Challenges with Friends

When you encounter a situation worth challenging, select Save Scenario during a game to generate a Scenario Share Code.

Send the code to a friend, who can enter it on the Black Box screen and select Load to start from the same situation. Whether you want to compare control strategies or ask a friend to take over a tricky shift, we welcome you to share your scenarios.

Gameplay Rules

• Manually saved scenarios remain available for at least 24 hours and expire at the second daily Black Box refresh after they are saved. Once a scenario expires, its share code can no longer be loaded. For example, a scenario saved at 13:00 on October 1 will expire at 00:00 on October 3 (UTC+8).
• DLC maps do not appear among the daily refreshed support maps, but you can share scenarios on DLC maps with friends through a Scenario Share Code, provided your friends also own the corresponding DLC.
• The License system does not apply in Black Box mode, and achievements cannot be unlocked.

MOD Branch Update

• We have updated the Mini Realistic Airways mod with multilingual support, adjustments to parts of the UI, and numerous bug fixes and control improvements.
• The MOD branch now includes the map pack mod by default, adding Barra and Harbin with all their mechanics, as well as all maps from the Busy Skies DLC (the new mechanics are not included yet and will be added in a future update).

To try it, right-click Mini Airways in your Steam Library, then go to:

Properties → Game Versions & Betas → Select the mod_feat branch

Once the game has finished updating, you can experience Mini Airways with aircraft altitude.
