Update v0.5.34 - Playtest Returns
Update v0.5.34
Important News About Early Access
We know a lot of you were hyped for Early Access launching today — and honestly, so were we. But we have to be honest with you: we're pushing it back.
Why? We hit some unexpected legal matters that we need to sort out properly before we launch. This is our first game together, and we'd rather take the time to do it right than rush and risk problems down the line.
As it looks right now, we're aiming for Q3 2026 — but as soon as we can lock in a clearer date, you'll be the first to know.
The Good News: Playtest is Back!
We've spent the last 3 weeks heads-down on a massive update, and we don't want to sit on that work. The playtest is back online so you can dive in, enjoy what we've built, and keep sending us your feedback. This update is substantial, and we'd love your thoughts before we officially launch!

Major UI Overhaul - Better Information for You

Balance Adjustments - Fine-Tuning the Experience
We've completely reworked how progression and difficulty feel throughout your run.
Better Early Game The start of each run is now much smoother. We've added a new weak early-game enemy (Small Larva) so even AoE spells feel more impactful from the beginning. You'll get a better sense of your build's potential right away instead of struggling against tough early enemies.
Balanced Mycelium Progression Mycelium progression now feels more consistent throughout the wave cycle. You won't hit sudden walls or have explosive moments where you suddenly have too many resources. It flows naturally as you progress.
Difficulty Done Right We adjusted difficulty progression to make the game genuinely harder at key moments - but not just through enemy scaling. We've increased reroll costs for perks and heal costs in the skill tree as difficulty increases. This adds meaningful progression pressure without feeling unfair.
Balance Details:
- Increased Spore damage: 2.5 → 3.0
- Increased Pinecone Rain damage: 5 → 6
- Increased Rotblade damage: 4 → 5
- Reduced block chance cap: 75% → 50%
- Reduced slow duration: 1.5s → 1.0s
- Interaction time increases with difficulty
Enemy Improvements
New Enemy & Reworks:
- Small Larva added - Weak early-game enemy for smooth run starts
- Toxic ground reworked - Now deals initial hit damage + poison over time (bypasses block/armor)
- Flying Greedle pathfinding fixed
- Flying enemies now rotate and hit correctly
- Lord Rammhorn - First appears at wave 13, reappears every 15 waves, now spawns artifact rewards
Quality of Life
- Legendary perk rarity - Appears very rarely with enough bonus luck
- Credits screen added
- Epilepsy warning on game start
- Privacy policy link accessible from game
- New early-game enemy (Small Larva) for smoother progression
Visual Quality Settings
We've added visual quality settings to support lower-end hardware. Now more players can enjoy Mycofall, even on less powerful systems!
