Major Update v0.8.10 New Enemies and Weapons
Major Update v0.8.10 Is Now Live
We have been working hard over the past weeks to bring another major update into Plains of Pain.
Sometimes we look back and it honestly feels unreal how far this journey has already gone. Plains of Pain started as a dream in our heads. A strange, dusty, brutal, funny, chaotic post apo sandbox we wanted to build because we could not stop thinking about it.
We are not a giant studio with endless money behind us. We do not have a massive marketing machine pushing us forward. We are simply stubborn people who believe in this world and keep putting our time, heart, and energy into it every single day.
And somehow, through all the noise, doubt, harsh expectations, reviews, feedback, pressure, jokes, and impossible wishes, we are still here. Stronger than before. More focused than before. Still pushing. Still improving. Still shaping the wasteland together with you.
We are not saying this to complain. We are saying it because this journey matters to us.
One day we want all of us to stand in a truly living wasteland, hearing the wind move through the dust, watching sand slide across the ground, and running toward the unknown chaos of random sandbox life.
That is the dream
And every update brings us closer.
Main Highlights
New Heavy Flying Faction Drones
Two new massive faction drones are entering the wasteland.
These are not small scouting machines. These are huge flying threats built to dominate the battlefield.
OGD Authority Keeper
TOS Chainbreaker
They attack with rocket barrages and can drop backup units when under pressure, including drones and soldiers.
These encounters are meant to feel dangerous, loud, and intense. If you see one above you, the wasteland is probably about to get very serious.
Faction Wars Wanted Response System
Wanted Status Trigger: one hit invoke that one enemy will attack you (for 5-30 seconds), if you hit it second time - WANTED status is invoked, each next hit increase WANTED time
Faction Wars now reacts more aggressively when players become wanted.
Faction unit drops are now scheduled based on Wanted level and player position based on difficulty settings, we added new switch there.
For example:
Around 3 minutes of Wanted time can bring a faction soldier to investigate the area 4 minutes or more can bring a small MK1 drone 10 minutes or more can bring stronger MK2 drone responses Higher Wanted time can roll more elite deployed units
If you are still in the area when the transport arrives, the response force can attack you.
You can also shoot down the air transport before it lands, if you notice it in time and have enough firepower.
This system makes Wanted status feel much more alive and dangerous.
New Weapons
The wasteland armory grows again.
Hellpipe X4 Rocket launcher with 4 RPG rocket slots. A favorite for anyone who believes one rocket is never enough.

M0 Warrant Rifle using 7.62x39 ammo with 8 rounds.
Nailgun hand gun Craftable starting weapon that shoots nails.
Rusty 5 Submachine gun with wasteland style.
OGD-5 Better version of Rusty 5 with OGD flair.
New Animals and Farming Additions
New animals are now part of the world.
Dustusk (wild boar)
Pig
We also added a new base building blueprint:
Pig Trough
The Pig Trough allows you to spawn pigs and adds a new farming and settlement option. It is also connected to new pork resources, giving players more reasons to develop their own base life in the wasteland.
New Cooking Recipes
New food options are now available.
Omelette - Tomato, Potato, Egg Worm Meat Skewer - Worm Meat, Tomato, Potato, Garlic
Cooking keeps growing step by step, and we want food to become more useful, more fun, and more connected to survival choices over time.
New Items
New resources and cooking materials were added.
Pork Chop, Pork Tenderloin, Pork Ribs, Pork Skin Wild Boar Meat, Wild Boar Tenderloin, Wild Boar Ribs, Wild Boar Skin Gloop Skin, Worm Meat, Acid Sacks, Organ Core Twine Onion
Gameplay Changes
The Middleman Skill Update
Trading cargo now gives experience to the player.
More points in The Middleman skill increase the experience gained from each trade, and rarer cargo gives more experience as well.
We wanted to improve the peaceful progression path for players who prefer avoiding combat but still want to progress meaningfully.
The wasteland should support different kinds of survivors.
Some fight.
Some trade.
Some do both.
Quality of Life Improvements
Production buildings can now be removed with Stone Hammer You can now use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out while aiming with sniper rifles Vehicle wrecks can now be salvaged after being looted first Corpses can now be buried after they are fully looted Corpse highlighting improved for Lowlife Prime, Yes Man, and Brute, making them easier to recognize after large lowlife swarm battles OGD corpse highlighting was adjusted closer to the OGD crest color, using an azure green tone for better readability during different times of day
Visual Improvements

Fixes and Technical Improvements

Please help us test these drone improvements and let us know how they feel in real gameplay.

What Is Next
Now we will focus on bringing more new content into the game.
At the same time, we will keep observing how the community plays and reacts to the current update, as we always do. Your feedback helps us understand what feels good, what needs adjustment, and what should be improved next.
We will continue gathering reports, listening to discussions, and fixing any issues that appear along the way.
The wasteland keeps growing, and we are excited for what comes next.
Thank You
Thank you for standing with us through this whole strange and beautiful wasteland journey.
Every message, every review, every Discord discussion, every bug report, every screenshot, every video, and every honest piece of feedback helps us keep building.
We know this road is not always easy. Game development is messy, wild, emotional, and full of unexpected turns. But we are still here, still fighting for this world, and still putting our hearts into every update.
If this update gives you new moments, new stories, or another reason to return to the wasteland, sharing your experience in a Steam review helps more survivors discover Plains of Pain and join us out there
And remember
This is just the beginning.
