Welcome to the first major release of Problematic!
New Game Mode: Problematic Chess
Play chess in a world that actively hates you.
Battle across four gothic arenas while a sarcastic narrator roasts every blunder, questionable trade, and terrible life decision.
Game Modes
- Casual 1v1 – Classic chess with a dark gothic twist.
- Carnage 2v2 – Team up and fight on a massive 14×14 cross-shaped battlefield.
- Chaos FFA – Four armies enter. One king leaves.
Power-Ups & Chaos
Fairness is optional.
Judge Mode Power-Ups
Use powerful abilities to:
- Steal cards
- Sabotage opponents
- Manipulate rounds
- Influence the Judge's decisions
Problematic Chess Power-Ups
Bend the rules of chess by:
- Reviving fallen pieces
- Swapping units across the board
- Activating unique abilities
- Removing enemy pieces from the battlefield
Dynamic World Events (Chaos FFA)
No match stays the same for long.
Random world events can occur at any moment, temporarily changing the rules of the battlefield.
Current events include:
- Plague - Pieces begin dying across the board.
- Blood Moon – Aggressive play becomes significantly stronger.
- Famine – Movement and strategic options become limited.
Additional random events can completely transform the match until the next catastrophe strikes.
