Multiplayer & Stability Improvements

This update brings a major set of improvements to online and local multiplayer, with better controller support, party stability, player syncing, and several gameplay fixes.

Also Steam Deck default controller is no longer forced into use so you can play with any combination of controllers on it as well!

Multiplayer & Controllers

• Multiple players can now play online from the same machine, using any combination of controllers and keyboards

• Remote Play Together remains supported and can even be combined with online play!

• The game now remembers your character choice for the next level

• Improved player readying; simply press a button to become active during character selection

• Improved controller connection and reliability across PC and Steam Deck

• Improved support for both Steam Input and native controller input

• Improved player and party (dis)connection handling, preventing parties from becoming stuck and requiring a game restart

• Improved player character and loading screen synchronization during online play; no cultist left behind!

Gameplay & Level Improvements

• Added nameplates to character portraits

• Improved fish-catching probabilities

• Mansion 01: Moved a table slightly to prevent items from getting stuck behind it

• Docks 04: Reduced the knife price from 2.5 to 2

• Docks 04: Closed a small gap on the top-left platform to reduce accidental falls into the water near the selling station

Fixes

• Fixed players occasionally getting stuck in the throwing animation

• Fixed players being randomly stunned by a Spirit that had already been vacuumed

• Fixed incorrect gamepad buttons appearing in some menus and prompts

• Fixed incorrect player spawn-point indexing

• Fixed inconsistent pause menu behavior on the World Map
