Introducing the "Gigantobot", a New Boss Enemy!
We are excited to announce our next update includes a new enemy, a new scrap item, and several changes to our UI/HUD for improved messaging!
Patch Notes
New Features
New Enemy: Gigantobot
The Gigantobot is a new droid / robot-type enemy. It has two attack modes / weapons - a rocket attack and a pound attack. The Gigantobot is a boss enemy that has its own room to fight in. It’s so big it cannot use doors and cannot leave the room in which it spawns.
New Scrap Item
We added a ew scrap item: the lightbulb. This item is a common electronic scrap rewarding 9 Components.
Balance Changes / Improvements
We added new icons to the in-game HUD and on the loadout selection screens. These icons show which tools other players have selected for the raid so all players know what tools teammates currently have during a raid. We added "quit messaging" so the host is aware that if they leave a raid, they will bring their entire party out of the raid, as well, as we felt that wasn't clear to players. If you try to drop a weapon or tool that cannot be dropped (currently Nailer or Scrap Gun), players will now hear a "negative buzzer" sound and a toast message reminding you that you cannot drop these weapons. There will also be an icon on the weapon wheel so this is more clear. We completed a design pass on weapons. The specific changes are as follows:
Most weapons have had their fire-rate doubled, damage reduced, and ammo increased. Overall weapons are more powerful. Shotgun damage profile reworked to 1-shot at close range, and a more steep falloff at medium range. Archer reload time reduced to match the Recycler. Rusty Bulldozer reload time increased. Ripsaw's base scrapping speed increased 20%.
We completed a design pass on raids to balance the end sequence a little more:
Small raids now gain 15 seconds (up from 12) when disabling an electric barrier Large raids now gain 10 seconds (down from 12) when disabling an electric barrier
We completed a design pass on scrap and rewards:
The value of scrap items has been increased 50%-100% depending on the item. Rare scrap items now drop 5% less from the generic scrappable boxes. Completion rewards reduced.
We updated the post match rewards screen to show the number of cells retrieved by each player as well as the player's level. If the player incremented their level during that match, there will also be an up-arrow to indicate this achievement. Flaming tanks can now be extinguished using the Sprayer as well as the repair tool. On the Upgrade screen(s), if a player does not have enough of a currency to upgrade, then the color of that currency will be red to more easily determine which currency you’re low on.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where some of the cannisters were appearing as the wrong color in-game. The correct colors are: blue for the power cell, pink for poison cells, green for radioactive cells, yellow for loot cells, and flammable cells are black and red with no glow. We made a change so that scrap on the floor cannot be scrapped. This was an oversight and should never have been possible.
