Silesian Wars — Joining Early Access Soon
After a few busy weeks, I'm excited to share that Silesian Wars is about to hit Early Access, and this one is personal. I was born in Upper Silesia and spent most of my life in Lower Silesia.
Two cities closest to my heart: Byczyna and Wrocław are lay in Silesia.
It is a region with over a millennium of rich, dramatic history, and this game is my attempt to bring some of it to life.
What is Silesian Wars?
It's a grand strategy game in the spirit of Europa Universalis, a genre I've been passionate about for a long time and approached several times before. This time I'm going all in. The game spans multiple historical eras, each playable as a standalone experience with its own mechanics and focus. You'll witness:
- Tribal colonization and early settlement
- Enforced religious conversion
- Religious wars and dynastic conflicts
- The Upper Silesia Plebiscite of 1921
- ...and much more in between
The focus here is history first. I stepped back from heavy procedural generation and instead, AI leaders behave in historically grounded ways, and events unfold with meaningful weight.
Where I need your help
The game is fully playable, but Early Access means it's not yet complete. Religion mechanics are in, cultural interactions are still coming. There's more planned: deeper foreign power diplomacy, building-terrain synergies, and expanded content across all eras.
I want the history to be right. If you spot something inaccurate, or know of a fascinating Silesian event that should be in the game, please tell me. I built this on research, but I know there's more I've missed. Multiplayer is tested and working. I'm especially eager to hear from anyone who gets a 4–7 player session going, that's the experience I most want to ensure is bug free.
The game is designed to be approachable almost as simple as Risk on the surface but with as much depth as you want to dig into.
When?
Soon, most likely still in June. I just need to make one last change. (I've been telling myself that for three nights now).
