Modifier Medallions

Slot Theory 1.7.1

A follow-up to the Clean Containment look. Like 1.7.0 this is presentation only: paths, slot positions, tower ranges and hit boxes are unchanged, no run plays differently and existing leaderboard scores stand.

Modifier medallions

Modifier icons are now small sci-fi medallions: a domed backing, a chrome bezel with lamps and bolts, a lit glass well and a unique glowing device for each modifier in its own colour. The same art is drawn at three sizes, so the codex, the draft cards, the stat chips and the board all show the same medallion.

  • Every tower shows what it carries. The square mod-count pips under a tower are gone. Each modifier slot is now a socket under the tower: an equipped modifier shows its medallion, an open slot shows an empty socket, and while you are placing a modifier the next open socket lights up in that card's colour.
  • Draft cards show the full-detail medallion, sized to match the tower icon beside it.
  • Chips and list icons use a crisper compact version with inked edges.

Enemies stand out from the lane

Red enemies and their glow used to blend into the magenta route. Each enemy now carries a soft dark outline around its body, and enemy types whose glow sat inside their silhouette get a round glow floor in their own colour, so every type reads the same way against the lane. The lane's own glow is dimmed to half so the enemies and the route line are easier to tell apart.

Board and menus

  • Towers draw slightly smaller on desktop so the modifier row and the surge meter have room around them. Range and hit boxes are exactly as before; the phone size is unchanged.
  • Main menu and mode select panels and buttons now have chamfered corners with a rim light, bevel and drop shadow drawn by a shader, so their edges stay sharp at any window size. Colours and layout are the same as before.
  • The live game behind the main menu renders at your window's resolution instead of being scaled up from 720p, with 4x anti-aliasing.
  • The first menu button no longer appears already popped up when the menu opens, and moving the mouse off a button lets it settle instead of staying raised.
