Update Preview - Restricted Areas, Traveling Merchants and Visual Improvements
Hello Pioneers,
3 weeks ago, we released our first Community Update , strengthening SpaceCraft’s foundations and removing some of the friction that stood in the way of enjoying the game.
We’ve seen lots of questions across our social platforms, and we’d like to give you as much information as possible. We’ve created a form where you can submit all your questions about the game, and we’ll share the answers soon in the form of a Q&A!
Thank you for being part of the journey!
Ask us a question!
Today, we’d like to give you a first look at some of the changes and content in Community Update #2 coming on October 8!
This is the first of two preview posts. Next week, we’ll take a closer look at more new content, including Extractor Pods, Trade Nexus Buying Orders, and Level 6 Upgrades, to name just a few.
For now, we’re looking beyond your base: new Restricted Areas to explore, merchants to meet, and visual improvements across the galaxy.
Happy reading, Pioneers!
New Restricted Areas To Explore
Humanity may be making itself at home in SpaceCraft, but the galaxy still has secrets. Restricted Areas invite you into mysterious structures where you’ll need to explore, solve puzzles and uncover what happened there.
There are 11 new Restricted Areas coming to SpaceCraft, in addition to the 8 already in game. including 2 new designs built around low gravity and a more unsettling atmosphere.
Each area rewards you with a unique Data Disk. These disks contain useful discoveries to help you progress, and earlier areas have also been updated with practical tips, such as where to find vanadium or how to grow seedlings on your farm.
You can still sell Data Disks if you choose to. Completing Restricted Areas also grants Experience Points.
Trade With Traveling Merchants
Keep this between us, Pioneers: the company doesn’t control all trade in the galaxy.
As you explore planetary systems, you may encounter traveling merchants with goods to buy and items they’re looking for. Deals won’t always be in your favor. However, they’re looking for specific materials and will pay a good price for them.
Each merchant also has a limited supply of Credits, and their inventory and available Credits are unique to each player.
What a merchant sells depends on their specialty. Look out for traders dealing in ship hulls, modules, ingots, ore, patches, and more.
New Vegetation
You asked for greener planets. Across the galaxy, though, vegetation can look very different from what we know on Earth. We’re adding new plants and updating the appearance of flora on planetary surfaces.
New Atmosphere Colours
We’re also introducing more variety to planetary atmospheres. Changes in sky color and lighting will give planets a more distinct look as you travel between them.
New Base Customisation
You’ll have more ways to customize and organize your base. Change building colors, assign icons and give your buildings names so you can recognize them at a glance.
We look forward to seeing what you discover out there, Pioneers.
This blog post offers a first glimpse of what’s coming in Community Update #2. We’ll soon share more details and news focused on new content including Level 6 unlocks.
Thank you, Pioneers!
