What We're Working On

What's up people,
Besides the big bug fix patch from last week, we're hard at work on balancing and content updates we're planning on releasing relatively soon (and all the bug fixes.. so many bug fixes).
The last few weeks, we've been rebalancing the metaprogression entirely. We've heard the feedback from the game's launch that unlocking stuff was kind of a grind and too slow, so we've made sure players get unlocks much more frequently than before. We're currently testing that change with new players and after some small tweaks, we're hopefully shipping that update out by the end of the month.
Our level designer, Sam, has been working on a slew of new battlefields and they’re looking amazing. Here are some teasers.
Another cool feature coming very very soon is mid-campaign saving. For now, it’s going to be solo only, but you’ll be able to save your campaign, go do your groceries, deal with the crying kids (or parent) and come back to continue your campaign.
We’re also going to be adding a bunch of new meta progression unlockables that you can buy in the village in our ongoing quest to give the player more agency over their campaign. Things to control the odds of a certain Emblem family appearing in a campaign, new possible Challenge rewards (other than just charms & threat reduction), metacurrency, emblems, healing, etc.
We’re also adding items as a choice of reward for bossfights, so those of you who can get to and defeat Gilles without losing any health can be appropriately rewarded. ;)
On the quality of life side of things, we’re going to be showing you the description of charms before you pick them up, or before using interactables in a level to help you better decide what kind of build you’re making before you’ve memorized them all! Super useful.
That’s not ALL we’re working on, but those are the things we expect to launch soon(ish)!
Finally, just to tease you a little (it's my job, okay?), yes, we are actively working on the playable hero the community has lovingly dubbed The Plague Doctor. We're eager to introduce this mysterious character, but for now, you just get this little teaser. Enjoy. :)
In other community news, a new player-run wiki is in the works (one that's written by actual humans who play the game 🙃) and should be published soon-ish! Special shout-out to Gebura who's currently singlehandedly carrying it, but we'd love to have some more contributors! If you're interested, reach out on Discord.
Thank you for reading and see you soon!
