Version 1.0k
Here is version 1.0k of TEM2, with improvements & new features from TE4, as usual.
New Features :
- Helpers : added the aiming preview for the service (note : your preview in the World Tour might be changed, you can set it back to your wanted level, go to your Character Sheet) - UI : you can now raise the font size in Settings -> Misc ; this is done automatically on the 1st run on SteamDeck (for new users) - Preview : added different ball impact previews (set it in Settings -> 3D Match) - Settings : added a Tennis.ini editor ; click on the little white icon on the bottom right of Settings -> Misc Options to access it - World Tour : rankings updated to 2024, and new players added if you start a new career (if you have a Mod for the World Tour, you won't see these additions) - Localization : Japanese translation, thanks to Tam ! (please report any typo) - Controls : it's now possible to navigate the menus with the D-Pad or the Right stick ; you can configure it in Settings -> Controls -> Players 1 -> Controller 1 -> Menu
Changes :
- Service : lowered the maximum possible spin for the very slow services (under ~100km/h), because the curve was way too pronounced - AI : the Incredible CPU will now be much much harder to be aced by another CPU player (against humans, it's still the same) - Strike : halved the loss of power when getting tired, which should shorten rallies by making it easier to hit winners when both players are tired - Strike : boosted the short strike speed by up to 4km/h, to help do passing shots with it (it was too curvy and slow before, allowing too many easy volleys) - AI : lowered the jump at the net of the CPU for the Club-10 and Junior-10 so their rally & net performances are more balanced (this will have some diminished effect till Pro-9) - Physics : now, hitting the ball with the frame of the racket will make the normal & long strikes end too long instead of in the net - Strikes : lowered a bit the Defense & Attack lob speed when standing far from the baseline - Replay : the replay menu is now usable with the new menu navigation controls ; to advance/rewind by 1 frame, use "Menu - Previous Tab" & "Menu - Next Tab" instead of "Menu - Lower" & "Menu - Action"
Bug Fixes :
- Replay : the ball impact mark could be slightly misplaced on serve - AI : in some cases, the CPU could think the ball was going into the net while actually it wasn't, leading to having no strike anim and possibly other issues - Menus : the player photos could get distorted - World Tour : disabling the Alternate Acceleration Style wasn't saved - Tutorial : the button labels were always for the generic controller even when you had an Xbox or PlayStation controller Tag Type - AI : in some situations, the CPU wasn't jumping at the net (note : there's no animation, the player just moves a bit fast for a fraction of a second) - World Tour : some players were getting way too strong during their junior years - Rendering : the lines were not correctly anti-aliased when the 2D Background was enabled - AI : the CPU could let the ball pass after having jumped at the net - Animation : the CPU could hit the ball with his racket far from it because he didn't reach for it - Animation : some strike animations could get very strange when done while running or just after finished to run :fear: - AI : the Incredible CPU was doing way too many wide faults on the serve (and the Master a bit too many) - World Tour : the White outfit (for the UK slam) wasn't always activated correctly - Animation : the player could glitch when missing a ball, especially when it was bouncing twice in front of him - Camera : changing the camera zoom could lead to random camera resets in the menus - Physics : some topspin balls had a too-low chance of ending in the net - Strikes : in some cases, the human player could switch several times between his forehand & backhand - AI : while standing near the baseline, the CPU could miss the ball if it were too high (eg: against a lob)
