First Update: Progression Fixes, Matchmaking & Improvements
Greetings, Wavecrashers!
Since Wavecrashers launched yesterday, we’ve been working through your reports, fixing bugs, and putting together our first update. Thank you to everyone who’s played, shared feedback, and joined our growing Discord community. Seeing you jump in, help each other out, and share your experiences has meant a lot to us.
We owe an apology to those who experienced progression loss or crashes. Losing progress is frustrating, and addressing these issues has been our top priority. This update includes fixes that we hope put them behind us. Please let us know if you’re still running into problems.
Alongside those fixes, we’ve added Steam matchmaking and made a bunch of smaller improvements to gameplay, bots, visuals, audio, and menus. Here’s what’s changed:
Added Steam matchmaking directly to the main menu, under Play. Improved progression protection and recovery, and fixed a player progress related crash when closing the game. Fixed movement issues and attack commands being treated as movement. Improved bot combat, skill usage, item purchases, and portal behavior. Added base damage to Archer Towers and fixed tower activation, effect ranges, and visuals. Improved Ordeal behavior and card animations, plus elemental effect visuals and tooltips. Improved character-specific Tide achievement tracking. Fixed Fire Mage knockback targeting, lingering Black Knight ultimate effects, and item cooldown displays after swaps or reconnects. Added player and bot names above health bars, improved hero descriptions, and fixed localization and UI layout issues. Added and rebalanced combat, boss, weather, and menu sounds.
Thank you!
