What is friendslop?

Friendslop is what players and the games press call cheap co-op games made for a group of friends. They are quick to learn, loud on voice chat, and much better with four people than with one. R.E.P.O., PEAK and Lethal Company are the games most people have in mind.

The name joins friend with slop, internet slang for cheap, mass-made content, and some still mean it as a dig. PEAK's success in 2025 put it into everyday use, and some studios now use it for their own games. Wikipedia has the longer history.

Most of them cost less than $20 on Steam. Slopranks lists the co-op ones up to $30 and ranks them by player votes.
