Final Demo Update — Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
This is the final update for the ASTERIS demo. Thank you so much to everyone who played it. New content and updates continue in the full game, launching on November 5 at 19:00 KST (10:00 UTC) . The characters and progress you built in the demo carry over to the full game on the same account, so pick up right where you left off.
Stages 4 and 5 Await in the Full Game
- Stage 4 — Arena of Trials — Every time a gladiator falls, the sundial at the center of the arena becomes a lift and carries your party underground. Break the Sun's Chain in flooded cells, the gladiators' quarters and a colossal engine that holds the sun, and when you rise again the arena has become a new stage: an execution ground, a flooded arena glowing in the sunset, and a final stage under the first sunset in a thousand years. Each act brings its own devices, from the Execution Gong that turns the crowd's thumbs down to the Floodgate wave that sweeps across the arena. Gladiators call out their own names to challenge you to a one-on-one duel, and whoever steps forward first faces them.
- Stage 5 — The Gods' Last Day — The higher you climb, the further time flows backward, rewinding the temple a thousand years. Starting from a dial broken down to its spokes, the floor heals and reshapes itself with every era, into chasms, a garden of roots and wells of the void. Strike that era's divine glyph and the god strikes in person, sweeping hordes into the chasm with a tidal wave or hurling lightning from the sky. At the summit is the last day, when all five gods still lived. Towering gods of light fight alongside you, then shatter one by one in the final battle against Azrathos, the Godbreaker, and when the god you chose breaks, its last power pours into you.
Reshape each of the 33 active skills across four heroes in 24 ways to suit your style, and complete your own build with True Name awakenings and the forms of five gods. Add ASTERIS to your wishlist to be notified at launch.
Balance
- Boss area attacks — Big area attacks from bosses and mid-bosses now hit for a share of the target's maximum health instead of a fixed amount (up to 85% per hit; wipe mechanics are unchanged). Evasion, defense and shields still apply afterward, so tanks take less.
- Hero damage — Dark Slayer +13%, Vanguard −15%, Windrunner −12%, Aether +33%.
- Mid-bosses — Mid-boss health in every stage −20%.
- Higher Stable levels — From Stable 10, bosses' big casts, charges and blasts scale fully with the level, while monster health growth per level drops from ×1.17 to ×1.10. Levels beyond your build are decided quickly instead of dragging on.
- Party dungeon: The Deep — At Stable 2 and 3, every boss gains one new pattern. Gorvak leaps after a war cry you fail to interrupt, and Azhdarak takes to the air once more at Stable 3.
- Engraving costs — Awakening rows: Legion 2,500/4,000, Full Moon 2,000/5,000, Vortex 1,500/5,000, Flurry 1,500/3,500, True Name 1,000/2,000 (all were 1,500/4,000). The later ranks of 20-rank engravings are much cheaper (last rank 57,500–95,500 → 14,750). Lifesteal is stronger than the others, so it costs more (ranks 1–5 total 8,500 → 25,000). Ranks you already bought stay as they are.
- Vanguard: Whirlwind Kick — Rune ① Advancing Gale now advances only up to your mouse cursor (up to 7m). Aim close to spin in place.
Changes
- Party names — In party play, name tags, the party window, results and chat now show character names instead of Steam names.
- Party dungeon entry — When you're alone, the line above the entry button now reads "Two or more players needed". The party dungeon requires at least two players.
Fixes
- Stage 1: The Stranger's window stayed open to the end if a party member left without choosing a blessing.
- Stage 2: When the forecourt sealed for the Varhold fight, fallen party members and drops could be left outside and monsters could come from behind. The Rupture reward's chain explosions could also stop midway.
- Stage 3: Mending Echo went through defense twice and landed too weak.
- Memory of the Fallen Star gave too much experience, and the escort mission leader's protection turned on late.
- "Drawn into the boss room" appeared for party members returning from being away.
