It plays on the built-in controls

Fly on the left stick, aim on the right. Boost is L2, fire is R2, and a scan sweep is a click of the right stick. Menus run on the d-pad, A confirms, B backs out. The game reads whichever pad you are holding and draws that pad's own buttons, so on Deck you get Deck glyphs rather than a generic controller's. Rebind any of it in Options.

Nothing to type, nothing to turn down

1280x800 is a resolution the game already runs at, on default settings. There is no name prompt and no chat, so the on-screen keyboard never has to come up. You join a co-op friend straight from your Steam friends list, and games on your own network show up on their own.
