The Bugs & Birdies demo is live on Steam, just in time for Steam Next Fest (October 19 to 26). And it is not a small slice: the whole island world is open, nothing is locked.
- Build a home, farm your fields and keep your chickens happy
- Fish from the dock by day and by night, and maybe meet the octopus
- Spin the Wheel of Fate and see what the day brings: a storm, an earthquake or a giant worm
- Dive into dungeons, fight bosses and find legendary gear
- Play online co-op with up to four friends
New since our last update: fishing got a lot deeper
- A journal with a fish book that keeps every species you caught, with your record size and weight
- Every catch is measured now, and with a bit of luck you land a rare trophy fish
- Cut a hole in the ice and go ice fishing
- Song fish: play the right melody on the music plates close to the water and a rare fish starts to bite
- The Angler, a frog in a sou'wester, builds a little dock on your island and trades fishing gear for fish
- Keep a goldfish in a bowl as a lucky companion, or set it free and see what it brings back
- New dishes like sushi and smoked fish, and a very strange catch deep down in the abyss
The Hall of Echoes with the Fiddle Beetle is in the demo as well, and controller support got better: every menu and list can now be scrolled with a gamepad.
Your progress carries over to the full game, so nothing you build is lost.
