Bulwark 1.0 is out: rebuilt from scratch...

Bulwark 1.0 is out, and the game has left Early Access.

First, I owe you an apology. Bulwark was meant to leave Early Access in about a year, and it took two. The honest reason: the old code had turned into spaghetti, and the game I had promised would never have fit on top of it. So I rebuilt the whole thing from scratch. I make Bulwark on my own, and that took time, but 1.0 stands on ground I can keep building on for a long while.

If you already own Bulwark, 1.0 is yours. It is an update, there is nothing new to buy.

Here is what's new.

Brand new enemies, and more of them

A whole new army of goblins and orcs, with a boss waiting if you hold out long enough. The waves keep getting stronger the longer you last.

More to build with

More blocks and stronger materials, unlocked as the run goes on. Build platforms into your walls for your archers to shoot from, and lay traps. Wood burns now, so think about where you put it. More defenders for your walls, too, and upgrades to make them stronger.

Step into the fight

The barracks soldiers are gone. In their place you can take up a Warrior and fight yourself, growing its skills over the run. Or stay the Builder and let the walls do the work.

Run the camp

Fell trees, run the Sawmill, put the Cave to work, and hire help to keep it all going.

Gems and cards

Spend your gems on cards that change your run, some of them bargains with a catch.

Play with friends

Co-op over Steam, up to four players. Invite friends into your run at any time, even one already under way.

Mods

Local mods are in. Switch them on and set their order from the MODS screen. A few example mods come with the game, to play with or to start your own from. Steam Workshop support is on the way, as the first big update after 1.0.

• Steam Cloud keeps your saves on every computer you play on
• Full gamepad support, and every key and button can be rebound
• A macOS version, beside Windows

If you played in Early Access

Your achievements stay yours, and now they have progress bars. If you earned Survivor, the two Warriors it unlocks are already open for you.
