Bus Simulator 27

Tips: Hardware, Settings and Performance

Simteract

The graphic above offers an overview of PC systems and hardware and which settings should work best for you when playing Bus Simulator 27. When starting the game for the first time, the game’s integrated hardware detection scans your system and chooses fitting settings for you automatically. Anyway, if you want to change some of the settings to customize your experience according your needs or if you are experiencing performance issues while playing, here are some tips for you.

Assess Your PC & Find Your Bottleneck

Not every PC fits perfectly into one of the categories above – and that’s completely normal. Your GPU might be Performance PC level while your CPU is closer to Standard PC.

To assess your system, compare your GPU , CPU and RAM individually with the reference components in the graphic. Your weakest component determines your overall system category and is also the first place to look when performance is lower than expected.

For example, if your GPU matches the Performance PC category but your CPU matches Standard PC, use Standard PC as your baseline. You can still take advantage of your stronger GPU by increasing settings that primarily affect graphics.

CPU is your bottleneck?

The CPU handles much of the simulation behind the city. If your CPU is the weaker component – or performance drops especially in busy areas – reduce AI Vehicle Density and Pedestrian Density first.

Your GPU may still allow you to keep higher resolutions and visual settings.

GPU is your bottleneck?

If your GPU is the limiting factor, start with DLSS if your NVIDIA GPU supports it.

DLSS Quality → Start here for the best balance of image quality and performance. DLSS Balanced → Use if you need some additional performance. DLSS Performance → Use if you need maximum GPU relief, especially at higher resolutions such as 4K.

If supported, you can also enable DLSS Frame Generation for a smoother experience and a higher displayed frame rate.

If you still need more GPU performance, try reducing:

Global Illumination Shadows Reflections / Effects Resolution

Keep in mind: DLSS and Frame Generation will not solve a CPU bottleneck. If performance mainly drops in busy areas, reducing AI Vehicle Density or Pedestrian Density may be more effective.

Resolution Should Match Your Hardware

Resolution has a major impact on GPU performance . The higher the resolution, the more pixels your graphics card needs to render every frame. Choosing a resolution that matches your GPU is therefore one of the most important steps toward stable performance .

Low End PC → 1080p (FHD) Basic PC → 1080p (FHD) Standard PC → 1080p or 1440p (WQHD), depending on your desired graphics quality and frame rate. Performance PC → 1080p for 60+ FPS at High settings, or 1440p if you prefer higher resolution and can accept a lower frame rate. High End PC → 1440p at 60+ FPS or 4K (UHD) at around 50 FPS at Epic settings.

If your GPU struggles at your current resolution, reducing the resolution or using DLSS should be among the first things to try . A higher resolution is not necessarily the better choice if your hardware cannot maintain your preferred frame rate.

RAM is your bottleneck? If your available RAM is the limiting component, close unnecessary background applications before playing. If your system has less RAM than the category you are targeting, a RAM upgrade may be required to reliably reach that target.

Use the Graphic as Your Starting Point

Find your weakest component, use its column as your baseline, and then adjust individual settings according to the strengths of the rest of your PC.

CPU → Simulation density GPU → Resolution & graphics quality RAM → Available system memory

This way, you don’t have to lower everything just because one component is holding your system back.

See you on the road!
