Castillon Update: More Mounts, More Troop Controls & More Improvements
This update expands your mount choices and army controls, adds achievements, adjusts balance, and addresses player feedback.
Changes apply to the demo and full-game builds wherever the relevant content is available.
More troop controls
- R — Select troops visible on screen.
- T — Select all troops across the map.
- G — Send selected troops to the ground beneath your cursor.
- H — Order selected troops to hold their current positions.
- All four shortcuts can be rebound in Settings → Keys.
- Selecting troops leaves their current orders intact until you issue a command.
- Commands issued during temporary movement restrictions are retained until the unit can move again. Newer orders replace previous ones.
- Holding melee troops now engage nearby reachable enemies, then return to their posts.
Weapons, spells and tower balance
- Shortsword: attacks now sweep through an arc, hitting additional enemies within reach. Added a white crescent slash to show the swing.
- Lance/Pike: increased reach and narrowed the attack corridor.
- Meteor: reduced damage, but surviving ordinary enemies are now briefly stunned. Bosses and minibosses remain immune to the stun.
- Enemy Mages now release towers they were freezing when stunned, frozen, feared or charmed.
- Corpse Blast: reduced damage and prevented large groups of exploding corpses from stacking excessive blast sounds.
- Explosive tower blast: reduced damage and blast radius.
- Crystal Drop: tower hits now temporarily mark enemies, allowing them to drop a crystal regardless of who delivers the killing blow.
- Status-effect durations now remain more accurate at low frame rates.
Economy and building choices
- Reduced worker gathering speed relative to the wizard.
- Reduced daybreak production from upgraded Lumberyards and Quarries.
- Increased the swordsmen and additional draft options granted by the final castle upgrade.
- Wooden Walls remain available after drafting Stone Walls.
- Unlocked Stone Walls can now be purchased as individual upgrades to Wooden Walls, at a premium over their normal construction cost.
- Fixed upgraded wall sections not completing construction correctly.
- Added the Bell Shrine to The Glade so you can call night earlier.

Ride the Rhino or Panther and earn Steam achievements for campaign progress, bonus objectives and special challenges.
Ironhollow Foundry: Single-player runs now begin with a warning that the mode is endless and cannot end in victory, while enemy pressure and difficulty growth have increased and bosses appear more frequently. We’ve also fixed an early-wave difficulty drop, reduced starting resources, and lowered the wave requirement for Iron Stronghold.
Bosses and enemies: The Bone Colossus has tougher hands, reworked slams, a longer melee attack window and a first-encounter camera sequence, and its slams can now hit flying allies. We’ve also improved boss-death cleanup, fixed Fire Golem reinforcements spawning after death, made Lava Naga spit arc over obstacles, strengthened and restyled Enemy Portals, and increased enemy numbers in The Glade’s later waves.
Improved building placement, wall gates and unit navigation, with fixes for trapped units, terrain gaps and movement-related hitches.
Lots of UI and UX tweaks.
Thanks to everyone sharing feedback, reports and playthroughs!
