Community Wrap-Up - September 2026

Happy autumn, Explorers We hope you're loving our latest update, Riders of the Underground! September has been a busy month for us, but we're so excited to be able to share all our hard work with you and we're very grateful for all the wonderful feedback you've been giving us. So, without further ado, let's get into this community update!

Riders of the Underground Launch!

Riders of the Underground launched on September 21st with a whole host of new features and content including rideable mounts, the Hookshot, improvements to magic and summoning, new pets, a new sub-biome and more We also updated the Explorer's Guide to reflect the new content, so keep an eye out for some adorable Orex illustrations! Core Keeper Visited the Tokyo Game Show

We had an amazing time in Japan for this year's Tokyo Game Show and we even gave attendees the chance to play Riders of the Underground a little early over at the Core Keeper booth. We had plenty of merch up for grabs and fun activities to take part in, as well as a giant inflatable Caveling roaming the show floor (don't worry, it was friendly!). One of the highlights of the event for us was being able to give fans the opportunity to meet our CEO, Fredrik, and we even managed to convince him to sign some autographs!

New Merch Just Dropped

You've been asking for new merch and we delivered! We just added 2x new hoodies featuring artwork from the talented Mamori art - Chutipa (the artist behind our 1.3 key art!) and a brand-new T-shirt featuring an adorable Embertail, designed by the wonderful Owlunae!

Listen to Volume 3 of the Core Keeper Soundtrack!

September saw the addition of Volume 3 of the Core Keeper soundtrack to Steam and Spotify! Featuring 21 tracks, including symphonic and string quartet versions of some of your favourite Core Keeper instrumentals, PLUS early concept music created by our very own Fredrik Präntare

The Big Break Showcase!

We weren't lying when we said we'd been busy. While Fredrik was off meeting fans in Japan, Alex (our Gameplay Lead) was on his home turf recording an interview for the Big Break Showcase. It was a real honour to see Riders of the Underground in amongst so many great trailers, and we were so thrilled to be able to share a little bit more about the update and how much our community means to us via the interview with Alex. Behind the Scenes With Our Gameplay Lead!

We've really put Alex to work this month! Alongside his interview with the Big Break Showcase, he also recorded some behind-the-scenes commentary about our newest features to give the community some insight into the development for 1.3. Lem's 1.3 Artwork!

Lem has done it again! We can always count on him to blow us away with amazing artwork whenever there's something about an update that catches his eye, and 1.3 was no exception. We can't blame him, of course, the Orexes are just too darn adorable!

Owlunae's Updated Cattle Colour Variants

Owlunae updated her cattle colour variant reference to include the Orexes added in 1.3. Which is your favourite variant? We're quite partial to a classic green Orex, but the black and purple variant is giving dragon vibes.
