Crowns & Chaos Full Release: The Multiplayer Update

The full release is here!

Crowns & Chaos was always about one hero against an endless horde. With the full release, that hero no longer has to fight alone. This is our biggest update yet: online multiplayer for up to 4 players, two ways to play together, and two new heroes.

Online multiplayer for up to 4 players

Co-op: Share the arena and survive the waves together. When a teammate goes down, stand next to them for a few seconds to bring them back. The run only ends when the whole party has fallen.

Versus: Same arena, same horde, but only one winner. There's no friendly fire, so the horde does all the work. The last hero standing wins, and if it comes down to the wire, the most kills breaks the tie.

In both modes, every player has their own crowns, levels, shop, weapons and gear. Build your own way. Between waves, everyone shops at the same time, and the next wave starts once the whole party is ready.

Getting into a game

• Host a public or friends-only lobby
• Invite Steam friends right from the in-game friends list
• Share your lobby's 6-character join code (public lobbies only)
• Browse open lobbies, or join a game on your local network. It shows up automatically

Two new heroes

Visit the new Locker from the main menu to choose who you take into battle:

• Sir Aldric: A veteran of a hundred sieges in blued steel and gold.
• The Conjurer: Shorter beard, taller hat, louder spells.
• The Archmage: The original keeper of forbidden lore, still old, patient and very hard to kill.

Heroes are cosmetic, so pick the one you like. Your teammates will see your choice in the lobby and in the arena.

Also in this update

• Teammate cards show your party's health, crowns, and who's down
• New match results screen with team stats and Versus placements
• Netcode built to stay smooth on slower connections

Still prefer to play solo?

Solo runs play exactly as before: 13 weapons, 15 pieces of gear, 9 wave modifiers that change the rules, and a boss every tenth wave.
