Be sure to join our discord so that you can send your feedback and bug reports in the #pts-feedback channel. In this post we will briefly cover the important features to test, with the full detailed patch notes at the bottom. So have a read through while you download the PTS update!

  • Connect to one of the available official PTS servers, which depends on your location.

How to switch back to the live version of the game:

  • Right-click Deadside in your Steam library, then click on Properties…;

  • Wait for an update to download and launch the game;

First we have a handful of vehicle changes, from new features to balance changes. Vehicles now have a speed boost if you press Shift while driving, at a cost of burning through fuel quickly.

Tires are now destructable, and can be repaired with Duct Tape. The amount of shots to pop a tire depends on your weapon damage, so long range shots won’t be nearly as effective. You can still drive on a destroyed tire, but at lower speeds with worse handling.

This update also includes new vehicle skin DLC, but unfortunately that won’t be ready in time for you to test on the PTS. You will be able to press U on a vehicle to look at the different skins that will be available, but you won’t be able to apply them.

Vehicle upkeep at your base has changed as well to prevent griefing by other players. Now the Mechanics Workbench requires line of sight to a vehicle before it will protect them from decay. This prevents other players from leaving vehicles inside of your base radius to drain your resources. Here is an example image on how this will function in game:

To finish with vehicles we have lots of balance changes. Vehicles will spawn more often, in new spawn locations. They burn through fuel slower, and loose durability slower when being driven. Check out the patch notes for the exact values for each vehicle

This test will be your first experience with the new boars, and the new crafting recipes related to them. You can cook them for good food, while rendering their fat in a campfire. Two rendered fat plus one vodka, and two fabric combine in an advanced workbench to craft machine oil. Its head can also be mounted on the wall for decoration.

While testing be on the lookout for any map geometry issues, as some POIs have been improved in this update. The Khimash factory being one of the largest, getting a new coat of paint and more details added.

Below are the full patch notes with all the important details, be sure to read through. There are some features that we didn’t cover in the main post that we think you will like!
