FreeRide Update
Hey everyone!
We're excited to introduce a new update; the FreeRide update. Generate procedural trails to your liking, with no restrictions on Biomes and Grand Tour levels. You can also share these with your friends and play the most extreme generations together!
Alongside the FreeRide mode we're bringing a new controller scheme, controller rebinding, crew cards and Halloween gear to the game. Let's dive a bit deeper into it all.
FreeRide
As mentioned, with the new FreeRide update you can generate your own procedural levels. Whether you like the Curvy Races, or the Steepest Stunts, the generation controls are in your hands! You can also select which Crew Members you'd like to use on the trails, for that true sandbox feeling.
We're not restricting you to just procedural trails. All the Grand Tour maps now also have seeds so you can load any map and play them with a stacked Crew Card Deck, too!
If you played a map in Career that you really like, copy it to your clipboard and share with your friends!
Controller Rebinding and new scheme
A long requested feature we've been getting is a controller scheme that feels similar to Descenders. We're happy to say that you can now choose your input preset. We have the legacy Descenders Next controls, and the 'new' Descenders controls that should feel very familiar to fans of the first game. Is there still something you'd like to change? You can! Controllers are now also fully rebindable.
New Crew Cards
We're spicing up career with a new set of cards to collect. Some are instantly available, others require some more work.
Think of a card that grants an additional item at the end of a run, or the Ankh. Which gives you an extra try when you're on Last Stand! Make sure to let us know what you think of these, and as always feel free to give us more inspiration and ideas for new cards as well!
Happy Halloween!
From today until the 31st of October there's special Halloween gear being dropped. So make sure to collect them all!
What's Next?
- New Sport: Skiing
Next update will add Skiing to the game. We're super hyped to add the first of many new sports to Descenders Next, and we can't wait to start showing some sneak peeks on our official Descenders Discord the upcoming weeks.
As always, thank you so much for being on this journey with us, and we can't wait for Descenders Next to grow even bigger!
Much, much love,
RageSquid and No More Robots
