🔗 Retraction of Steam Workshop Support Plan & Mod Policy Announcement
Hello, this is the DragonSword : Awakening team.
To more clearly and safely support community creation activities for DragonSword : Awakening, we have prepared our official Mod Guidelines .
We are currently preparing Steam Workshop support , and the exact opening schedule will be shared through a separate notice. Once Steam Workshop is officially supported, we will permit the creation and use of various mods that comply with the Mod Guidelines below.
■ Permitted Mods (Examples)
- User-created free character skins
- Texture and color changes
- Partial character appearance changes such as glasses, capes, and accessories
- FOV / UI / QoL improvements
- Gameplay mods that increase difficulty or provide new challenges
■ Prohibited Mods (Examples)
- Mods that unlock DLC or bypass DLC purchase requirements
- Trainers, cheats, and mods that lower difficulty or provide unfair advantages
- Content that uses IP from other games or third parties without permission
- Content that infringes copyrights, portrait rights, or other third-party rights
- Mods that use unreleased, non-public, or otherwise unprovided characters, models, data, or game content
- Extraction or redistribution of the game's original sound, video, models, textures, or other assets
- Content designed to replicate official paid content or substitute for its purchase
- Features that improperly bypass achievements, progression, rewards, or content unlocks
- Explicit sexual content
- Paid or paywalled mods
- Mods that pose security risks to users, such as malware or unauthorized personal data collection
- Content that impersonates or is misleadingly presented as official content from Hound13 or DragonSword : Awakening
■ Clarification of Existing Policy and Response Standards
This section does not introduce any new restrictions, and there are no changes to our existing Mod policy or response approach.
This clarification has been prepared to formally document areas where explicit rules had not yet been laid out, and to prevent any misunderstanding regarding our support and provision scope ahead of Steam Workshop launch.
The following items are being explicitly outlined because they directly affect the game's revenue, or may create a sense of unfairness for users who have purchased DLC :
- Unauthorized restoration, use, or distribution of non-public, unreleased, or unprovided characters, models, data, Assets, or other game content
- Restoring or distributing non-public content identified through data mining so that it becomes usable in-game
- Extracting the game's or DLC's original Assets and distributing them as separate files
- Bypassing purchase, ownership verification, or access conditions for DLC or other paid content
- Creating or distributing tools that bypass, disable, or interfere with game updates, DRM, integrity checks, or other technical protection features
- Creating or distributing content infringing upon Hound13's or third parties' copyrights and other intellectual property rights
When such content is identified, we may request the creator to cease distribution, or ask the distribution platform to remove the content or restrict access.
This is intended solely to protect the long-term operation of the game and the interests of users who have supported it through their purchases . It is not intended to restrict or discourage community creative activities.
⚠️ Regarding Co-op Play
Even after Steam Workshop support begins, Co-op will not be available in environments where mods are active or unauthorized modifications to game files are detected.
- Co-op will only be supported in Vanilla environments using unmodified game files.
- Even permitted Steam Workshop mods will disable Co-op functionality while active.
⚠️ Technical Support for Mod Usage
Although Steam Workshop will be provided as the official means to distribute and use mods, Hound13 does not guarantee the proper functioning of individual mods or their compatibility following game updates.
The following issues caused by mod usage are, in principle, not covered by Hound13's technical support:
- Game crashes
- Save data corruption
- Performance degradation
- Graphics or gameplay errors
- Game progression blockage
- Conflicts between mods
- Mods not functioning properly after game updates
If issues occur, please first verify whether the problem reproduces in a clean game environment with all mods disabled or removed.
📖 Official Mod Guidelines
The complete mod policy and detailed permitted/prohibited criteria can be found in the DragonSword : Awakening Official Mod Guidelines below.

※ Please Note
- Steam Workshop is not yet available at this time.
- Mod permission rules related to Steam Workshop will officially take effect once Workshop support begins.
- Mods outside of Steam Workshop and third-party modding tools are currently not officially permitted.
- Steam Workshop opening schedule and EULA revision enforcement schedule will be shared through separate notices.
We will continue to support DragonSword : Awakening's community creation activities over the long term, while preparing an environment that protects the game, its users, and Hound13's rights alike.
Thank you.
