More Questions, Customisable Gameplay Settings, Balancing & UI/UX Updates!
It's just over a month since we released Duo Quest -and here's our first small content drop! Thanks to all our players who've given us feedback - it really helps the team work to improve the experience for everyone! Here's details of what we've included in this update:
Questions
We’ve DOUBLED the questions for Stage 1! So if you’re looking for a reason to get back into Duo Quest, this is the perfect excuse. We'll be doing more question drops for each level in the coming months!
Gameplay Settings (New Features)
We have been reading all the comments and have added some features that players have been asking for! This includes:
- The Question Timer - this can now be turned on or off depending on the players’’ preference.
- Gameplay Inputs - this will hide some non-essential UI buttons on screen to be less distracting for the players (but not all as there are some that are needed, for example the inputs when answering questions).
- Fast Mode - this will speed up the game by x2 speed for those who want to speed up the game.
All of these gameplay settings can be found in the new tab called “Gameplay” in the Settings menu.
Game Balancing
Blind Rework:
- Previously the debuff “Blind” made it so that any number of stacks would equal to a 50% chance to miss the attack.
- Now: Each stack of “Blind” will give 10% chance to miss attacks with each stack increasing this by another 10% with a hard cap at 70%.
Have fun playing around Blind builds now!
UI/UX Polish:
In regards to the UI/UX polish of the game, we are constantly striving to make it a smoother and better experience for everyone! With that in mind, we have just done a first round of UI/UX polishing! This includes:
- We have improved the consistency between UI menus of the game, so it should feel like everything is a lot smoother
- We have adjusted the position of the Shield Icon for the enemies so that players can be more aware of when an enemy is blocking
- Damage numbers now have different colours depending on the type of damage (e.g. regular damage, debuff damage or even shield damage) and also the damage numbers will grow in size corresponding to the damage that you deal!
- Events now also have the book open animation and close animation to give players a bit more of a sense that they are going through a storybook adventure
- In general text should be more consistent and should be easier to read
- We know there have been a bit of confusion with what are Attacks and what are Abilities for the enemies so we have made the iconography for that much clearer!
Bug Fixes:
Save File: There was an issue with the save file whereby a player’s save file is overwritten if you go to another person’s profile. We have since fixed that. If you have trouble recovering your save files, please do contact us in our discord and we can help to provide some tech support.
Thank you to those who are still continuing to play Duo Quest - we've got more content planned for this year! Do stay tuned!
