Escape From Playtime Patch 2: The Lobby Doors Are Open!

Mob Entertainment

Hello, you Blessed! We want to take a moment to say that we’re reading all of your feedback and suggestions for Escape From Playtime, and we’re taking it very seriously. We took the two most asked for items and got them into this update: Public Lobbies and more Lore! We are committed to building an amazing experience with the community, and we sincerely hope it shows with this update.

Here’s what you can expect:

The Lobby Doors Have Opened!

  • This was the MOST requested addition to EFP - we heard you loud and clear!
  • Players can now host and join lobbies from the main menu.
  • We’ve also added a Quickmatch option, which will team you up with a random group looking for players.
  • The lobby host has the ability to kick problematic players from their matches.

Strange notes have appeared in the factory halls…

  • Sounds like someone was documenting their time in the factory through a series of notes… Try to find all 12! More will be coming soon… if you all can find these first.
  • A series of posters seemed to have appeared on the walls of the facility with some strange words scrawled onto them.
  • The VHS tapes found throughout the facility now reveal lore when brought back to the Perm-A-Lounge

Game Balancing

  • Each Shift’s quota now scales depending on how many players are in the lobby! We know this was a frustrating one for many smaller groups, so let us know how this feels!
  • When returning from the facility after a shift, players’ health and flashlight battery are fully restored.
  • Fell into that pesky hole in the Cave with an inventory full of valuable items? There’s now a Lost & Found Box to reclaim your lost items. No more trying to fish them out!
  • We added new signs around the cave to clearly label different sections.
  • The timer has moved from Glowby to the main HUD and turns red when less than a minute remains in your shift.
  • Elevators that are not accessible now have a broken lever to indicate it is unusable.
  • All players now receive the Sketch-A-Map at the start of a new game.
  • The Backpack item is now always available in the Vending Machine, and will begin appearing reliably throughout the facility.
  • All items were given a balance pass.

Quality of Life Improvements & Bug Fixes

  • CatNap Adjustments (let us know how this feels):
  • Pursues players affected by his gas even if they are unreachable.
  • Acquires his target earlier in his attack animation.
  • No longer loses sight of players on higher ground.

The cumulative Quota total needed to unlock KickinChicken was decreased from 25k to 20k. Hope this helps all the Kickin fans out there!

Limón now appears more often during Shift 7. Spawn rates increase with each shift after that. LIMÓN!

CraftyCorn and PickyPiggy are now granted to every player in the lobby once their unlock method has been met, rather than for only the player that triggers the unlock.

Item deposits under 1% now show “0%” instead of “<1%”.

The factory lights are properly restored after finishing an encounter with Miss Delight and Boogie Bot.

Fixed various Smiling Critter animations.

Tweaked the Midnight Catnap accessory texture so the eyes better match the pendant.

The elevator floor no longer gives fall damage.

Fixed a bug where Emotes caused a 90-degree turn.

The Emote wheel no longer uses inverted controls.

Fixed the dance emotes so they blend properly back to the idle pose.

Fixed the Yes Emote: knees no longer splay out and the animation loops properly.

That about wraps it all up! Again, thank you to everyone who’s played the game and given us valuable feedback so far. Please visit our Bug Board on BetaHub to report any issues you might encounter, and join the Escape From Playtime community on our official Discord Server!

Go forth, you Blessed!
