Update 1.0.18 — The Rat Update

Update 1.0.18 is mostly about rats. Tamed rats now have more ways to bond with you, wild rats react to more of what you do, and playing as a rat opens up new interactions. We’ll leave the details for you to discover.
The update also adds two new items, new pill effects and a round of monster fixes, in time for Steam Next Fest (October 19–26).
What’s new
- New interactions with rats, including for players in rat form. Tamed rats grow more attached the more you feed them.
- New item: Chili Pepper.
- New item: Banana Peel. You can throw it or place it at your feet.
- Unmarked pills have new effects.
- Some deaths now play out differently.
- Strength Pill: you can now pick up items and switch slots while it’s active.
- Added Arabic.
Monsters
- Fixed a monster being able to grab players through walls.
- Fixed chasing monsters briefly stopping when they lose or regain sight of a player.
- Fixed monsters getting stuck at a door closed in front of them.
- Fixed respawned monsters sometimes appearing partly inside the floor.
- Restored a monster’s ambient sounds between chases.
Fixes
- Fixed a newly tamed rat attacking its owner.
- Fixed empty containers, triggered traps and used items blocking the pickup of items next to them.
- Fixed jumping sometimes stopping working for the rest of a run.
- Fixed the missing pickup sound when an item goes straight to the hotbar.
- Fixed items dropped on chairs and sofas not resting on the seat.
- Fixed shrunk players aiming and throwing from above their head.
- Rat form is now affected by stuns and speed changes.
- The black shirt colour is now slightly lighter.
- Added a one-time tip recommending the in-game voice chat.
- Co-op: fixed torn-off limbs displaying incorrectly for clients.
