Polish & Balance Update: Fairer Upgrades, Tougher Late Waves, Longer Duels
Hello defenders! Thank you for all the feedback. This update is all about making Florentum fairer, smoother and more fun to play, alone or with friends.
Play your way
- Solo: hold the tower on your own.
- Co-op: two towers, one gem. Play on the same computer, or Online with your friends.
- 1v1 Duel: send your army at a rival tower. Practice against the bot or challenge a friend. []Ranked: duel other players online and climb the ladder.
- Full controller support, on PC, Mac and Linux.
Balance
- Upgrades scale with their level: level 1 costs 1 TP, level 2 costs 2 TP, level 3 costs 3 TP and so on. Your TP keeps its value deep into a run.
- Shields and walls must be repaired: the Bark Shield and the Thorn Walls no longer mend themselves between waves. Repair them with TP using the new SHIELD / WALLS button next to REPAIR. Bark Shield blocks and Thorn Wall hits are now 1, 2 or 3 by level.
- Tower health: the tower starts with 3 health and Max Health takes it up to 7. A Max Health upgrade gives +1 health instead of a full heal, and keeps the bonus health from heroes and relics.
- Late waves grow all the way to wave 100: more enemies, more of them on screen at once, and faster spawns.
- Less knockback: turret arrows no longer push enemies, bullet and spike hits push less, and bosses are pushed much less.
- Ricochet and Piercing Arrows: the second hit now does 25% damage.
- Multi Arrow now tops out at 3 arrows, and turret arrows are drawn a little smaller.
- Co-op: the double-hit combo on a boss can happen once every 3 seconds, so bosses don't melt instantly.
Duel
- Longer rounds: planning now lasts 45 seconds and every battle 25 seconds. []Units now come out under their sender's tower. Your tower shows its ammo, like in solo.
- Ranked: your opponent can't see your commander pick, cards or upgrades until the battle starts.
- The practice bot spends its gold more sensibly.
Fixes & polish
- Fixed waves that could stall with no ground enemies left on screen. Fixed enemies and bosses that could be pushed off the map and never come back (the Frost Maw could disappear). Fixed the mouse pointer drifting away from where you click after boss fights. Fixed clicking the game speed button also firing a shot. Fixed the Blinker's outline staying on the battlefield. Fixed Player 1 and Player 2 starting with different health in co-op. Reviving enemies (like the Stitched Shambler) now visibly fall over and get back up. New enemies walk into view sooner instead of walking unseen off screen. Clearer HUD: wave title, wave objective, messages and the game speed / time panel. Turkish text now shows its own letters (ı, ş, ğ, İ).
- Many smaller visual fixes.
What's next
We read every review, discussion and message. Keep the feedback coming, and we'll keep improving Florentum! Thank you for playing, and see you on the battlefield!
