Frostrail Demo Out Now!

You Can Now Play the Frostrail Demo!

Hello everyone,

Let’s celebrate Steam Next Fest with another chance to play Frostrail for free! If this is your first time aboard, welcome! Invite your best teammates and brave the cold together. Frostrail can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players.

Your train is your home. Upgrade it, maintain it, and keep moving forward: your survival depends on it. Along the way, explore abandoned towns to gather resources and craft equipment, food, and weapons. But tread carefully: Revenants haunt these places, and they will hunt you down.

This demo offers a glimpse of what Frostrail has in store. As we get closer to our Early Access release, we want everyone to have a chance to experience the game and share their thoughts.

We’re excited to see you explore its frozen, unsettling world, and we want to hear about your journey. Your feedback is one of our most valuable resources, helping us shape Frostrail into an experience we can all enjoy.

New additions since the last Playtest

More than 70,000 players joined our last Playtest! It was a lot of fun watching you explore, experiment, and find your own ways to survive.

Combat was one of our main areas of focus. We’ve read your feedback and made a range of improvements to make it more enjoyable and strengthen its role as a core part of Frostrail.

A few additions since the last Playtest:

Combat

• Improved melee hit feedback.
• Enhanced blood splatter effects.
• Adjusted stamina consumption for better balance.

Animations

• Added idle animations when holding melee weapons.

Crafting

• Added sounds during dismantling and when the process is complete.

Train

• Improved the access ramp to make boarding easier.
• Better visibility through the windows to see what’s ahead.
