Patch 2.0: A New Game Client, 13 Languages and Controller Support

Hello Miners!

Patch 2.0 is now live, and it is our biggest update since launch. We rebuilt the program that runs the game from the ground up. The mine itself is exactly the same: same levels, same rules, same scoring. Everything around it is new.

What's new

• One window, straight into the game. The old chain of launcher windows is gone. The game now opens directly, and Steam playtime, the Steam overlay (Shift+Tab) and achievements all work properly.
• 13 languages. English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Japanese and Korean. The original game screens are translated too, and Chinese text no longer overlaps or shows broken characters.
• Full controller support. Play with a controller or on Steam Deck. Button prompts can show Xbox, PlayStation or Switch layouts. In 2 Players mode, each player can use their own controller, or two players can share one.
• In-game leaderboards. Browse the Solo and 2 Players leaderboards from the main menu, jump to your own rank with Near Me, or open the board on Steam. Scores set in this version get a blue check mark once the game has verified them. Scores from the previous version stay on the board, marked "Legacy".
• Achievements reworked. All four achievements now unlock while you play. There is no button to press, and no internet connection is needed. 24K Pure Gold now asks for more than $24,000 at the end of a Play Game or 2 Players round. Achievements you already earned are kept.
• Steam Cloud. Your high scores and settings now sync between your computers.
• Your old high scores come along. High scores saved by the previous version on this computer appear in the in-game high score table.
• Remote Play Together. Invite a friend to a 2 Players game from the main menu, or from the pause menu during a 2 Players game. Your friend does not need to own the game.
• Pause anytime. Press Esc (or Start on a controller) to pause. The game also pauses if your controller disconnects.
• New Settings menu. Volume, mute in background, language, display mode, frame rate limit, button prompt style, extra key bindings, and a Controls guide for every mode.
• Use your Steam name. When you set a high score, fill in your Steam name with one press.

If something doesn't work

The previous version is still included. When you press Play, Steam asks which version to start: choose Legacy Version (Compatibility). We will remove it in a later update once 2.0 has proven stable.

The game now requires 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
