THE FISH INFLATION ACT HAS BEEN PASSED

yoo, quick patch for yall today... its a bit of a meta buster
PASSED THE FISH INFLATION ACT THEY ARE HUGE NOW
As you all know, inflation is soaring once again. In order to help combat this, I am taking executive action to combat fish inflation… Except, well, I'm doing the exact opposite… FISH ARE BIGGER THAN EVER
To address the feedback…
- The reason I decided to make this change is because of what yall said in the post I made asking for your feedback.
- One of the most common issues noted was that players like they would hit a wall on the fish they catch.
- You all mentioned that you would get to a point where you're not catching legendaries but yet your fish all seemed to be around the same weight and value.
- In addition, players mentioned that the game felt like it lacked some progression. There is still much more we have planned for improving progression; however, this is a start.
Okay Bigsexy, thats cool…. But what did you change???
Heres the rundown:
- Prior to this update, most of the buffs applied strictly to baitscore.
- Baitscore is important since it determines the type of fish you will catch, but it does not impact the size and value of the given fish.
With this new update, all your buffs will now directly impact both your baitscore AND the weight and point value of the fish.
The changes as previously mentioned:
Drunkenness: Our favorite buff ofcourse… It now applies a buff up to 20% towards fish weight and value
- Drunk level = 0-400 (each beer is worth 40 value)
- Plug that value into a map range with an out range of 1 to 1.2
Day Count: The bread and butter for progression… It now applies a buff up to 25% to fish weight and value
- Day count buff maxes out at 60 days
- Same formula as drunk level
Leviathan's Totem… Applies a buff to bait score, weight, and point value
- Level 1: 1.10
- Level 2:1.15
- Level 3: 1.20
- Level 4: 1.25
Difficulty…
- Jeremy Wade difficulty now applies a 25% buff to weight
- This buff was previously applies only when uploading to the leaderboard, it now applies a fish is caught
Fish Whisperer…
- Applies a 5% buff to point value and weight as the fish is caught instead of at fish upload to leaderboard
Fishing Hotspot (the seagulls)
- The hotspot currently reduces tension and increases your baitscore, however, with this update, it now also boosts weight and point value.
- If your bobber is in a hotspot when the strike system triggers, your fish will receive a 15% buff to weight and point value
Golden Catch Totem
- This totem will still only affect fish point value and not weight
As you can imagine… these buffs are quite powerful and will throw the current quota balance out of whack.
- With this new update, players can now achieve a point value boost of 1.2x + 1.25x + 1.25x + 1.25x + 1.05x + 1.15x.
- So for example, let's say you caught a 100 pound fish with a point value of 100. Fish Point Value = 100 * 1.2 -> 120 * 1.25 -> 150 * 1.25 -> 187.5 * 1.25 -> 234.375 * 1.05 -> 246.094 * 1.15 -> 283 * 1.35 -> Grand total of 382.05 points and a weight of 283 pounds
- Before this update, the max boosted value of the fish point value would have been 150 points
Altar Changes
- Because of this, I have adjusted the quota growth modifier by 1.25x.
- This is a fairly small change considering how impactful stacking buffs now is, so I will make further adjustments based on player feedback
The whole idea with this patch is to give players a greater sense of progression. Although all of these buffs were still being applied to your baitscore, it didn’t make enough of a difference.
Bug Fixes and other patch notes:
- Skeeter no longer meows at you
- Fixed an issue with the nav mesh on the arctic map
- Boats physics are now further optimized for clients
- Golden Catch now maxes out at 1.35x instead of 1.5x
- TNT will give less hearts and goldfish
- Logic error was causing to many bats to spawn at night
- Added dragonflies and fireflies to the lake map
- Other various fixes i never wrote down
