Playtest Coming Soon! What is Grave Mistakes about and what to expect

It’s been about two weeks since the reveal of Grave Mistakes, so we are here to share a bit more about the game, more info about the playtests, and what you can expect in the following weeks!

We’ve had over 7,000 people sign up for the playtest, we’re excited to have you play very soon. First, let’s take a look at what you will be doing in Grave Mistakes, moment to moment.

Game Loop & Features

Managing your day

There’s 3 stages in your day. During the day you accept funerals and run ceremonies for visiting families. The key here is to cause as little suspicion as possible… as you’ll be stealing body parts of the deceased for the next phase: Dinner time. Grandma has some unusual dietary requests. Fail to make her the dinner she wants and she’ll eat you instead! After dinner it’s time to relax, make preparations, clean up, upgrade the facility.. Because the next day the funeral home is open again!

Funerals

Accept people’s funeral requests and look at their expectations for the ceremony: the casket type, flowers, a portrait, a speech or even a live organ performance. Complete as many requests as possible to earn more cash.

Preparing bodies

When bodies are delivered, make sure to handle them asap as they will decay over time. It’s important to drain and embalm them, store them in freezers and get them to the chapel in time when the family arrives. Cut off a limb here and there and replace it with whatever you can find so the families don’t get suspicious during the funeral service.

Managing Grandma (she's old and not very human)

Grandma has a lot of special needs. Throughout the day she might ask you to put on a new Gothic Techno record or play basketball with her downstairs. Complete her day requests so she doesn’t get upset. She might punch her tentacles through the walls if you fail to keep her satisfied. It is not customary to have tentacles around the funeral home when receiving visitors, that might raise an eyebrow or two.

Losing it all

What of you fail giving grandma dinner? Well, she’ll eat you and you’ll turn undead. This means you don’t want visitors to spot you as well… you look kinda disgusting… Needless to say your work around the funeral home will get a tidbit more challenging like this.

Cause too much suspicion and one of you will be sent to jail! It’s hard to run a funeral home with undead employees and the rest of them stuck in prison unfortunately.

The Playtest

We’re preparing the playtest for you to get your hands on the game as we speak. We are eager to hear your thoughts on what we’ve been cooking.
