Steam Next Fest Demo Update: The Deadeye Joins the Hounds!
Steam Next Fest starts in just a few hours, and we’ve updated the Guns of Eschaton demo just in time! Whether you’re jumping in for the first time or coming back after our hotfixes, there’s plenty of new stuff to try.
Here’s what’s new:
We’ve been watching how you play, and many of you have spent one, two, even three hours in the demo. That means a lot to us! The full game isn’t out yet, but we wanted to give you more reasons to jump back in and try something different. That’s why we’re adding a new archetype and new passives to the demo.
New archetype: The Deadeye
The Deadeye archetype is now playable in the demo! Once a star of Buffalo Bill’s show, she’s now the Hounds gang’s shooting instructor, famous for trick shots that bounce bullets off coins and bells.
She comes with her own full kit: a signature weapon, an active ability, a passive ability, and a second passive that changes how her active ability works.
New passives for every archetype
- Each archetype in the demo now has a new passive ability you can buy in the archetype shop at Hounds’ Camp.
- These passives upgrade or change how your active ability works. For example, the Sheriff’s new passive enhances Quick and the Dead. Try them out and see how they change your playstyle!
Archetype gloves
- Gloves are now available in the Hounds’ Camp shop. Pick up gloves for every archetype available in the demo and add another layer to your build.
Aim Warning Talisman "Eagle Bone Whistle"
- Added the Aim Warning talisman, which warns you when an enemy is aiming at you. Snipers won’t catch you off guard so easily anymore!
- Hounds' Camp is a separate location that you can only reach through the Campfire travel menu. There you can buy new weapons, abilities, archetype passives and gloves to experiment with different builds and shape your playstyle.
- You get Hunter’s Vision at the end of the tutorial.. Press Q to activate it and try it in your first fights!
- Every weapon has its own special ability, even your starting one. Press Z to use it and see what it does!
- Press X to switch weapons if you have more than one equipped.
- The Codex automatically switches to the entry for the enemy you’re aiming at, even if that enemy is already dead, so you can study your enemies after defeating them.
- Press the Right Mouse Button to expand the Codex into its full book view, where you can browse the table of contents and all available entries.
New to Guns of Eschaton ? It’s a demanding first-person western set in a world scorched by the Burning. Here, a fast trigger finger alone won’t save you: you’ll need to watch your enemies, learn their weak points and pick the right moment for every shot. Not sure it’s your kind of game? That’s exactly what the free demo is for. Jump in during Steam Next Fest and find out! We’re reading every report and every review. Thanks to everyone who’s playing, sharing feedback, and helping us make Guns of Eschaton better! Keep the reports coming!
