Hasbro Games™ Junior Collection Game of Life Deep Dive

Casual Brothers Ltd.

At Outright Games, we’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Hasbro to bring some of their most recognisable family games to Steam as part of Hasbro Games Junior Collection, launching this November.

Bringing together Monopoly Junior, Clue Junior and The Game of Life Junior, the collection is designed to introduce younger players to familiar Hasbro favourites while giving families a new way to enjoy game night together. Each game has its own personality, but they all share the same focus on accessible gameplay, local multiplayer for up to four and plenty of opportunities for players to get involved.

For us, The Game of Life Junior is all about the choices that can happen between the start and finish of a game. Every spin opens up a new decision, whether that means choosing a route, stopping at an attraction or taking a chance on an Action Card.

In this first look, we wanted to share more about how those choices come together to create a game that feels familiar, but with a few surprises along the way.

Spin the wheel, then choose your path

Every turn in The Game of Life Junior begins with a spin, but the number you land on is only part of the decision. As players move around the board, they’ll come across different routes and crossroads, giving them the chance to decide where they want to go next.

Players can choose whether to stop at attractions or continue moving, meaning there isn’t always one obvious route to take. We wanted those moments to feel like a natural part of the gameplay, giving younger players the freedom to make their own choices without needing to navigate more complicated mechanics.

Attractions, tickets and stars

Stopping at attractions gives players the opportunity to collect stars, which are key to winning the game. Players can also use VIP Tickets to help them make the most of their turns, adding another twist to the journey.

The aim is to be the first player to collect 10 stars, so every attraction and reward can make a difference. Whether players choose to stop and collect a star or keep moving in the hope of finding something better, each turn can change the way the race is shaping up.

Action cards bring everyone into the game

We also wanted to make sure that The Game of Life Junior wasn’t just about moving pieces around the board. Action Cards give players the chance to get involved in a different way, with challenges that might ask them to act, sing, search or complete a phrase.

Once a player has completed their challenge, the other players get to vote. It’s a simple way to bring everyone into the action, while creating those unexpected moments that make playing together so much fun. You never quite know what the next Action Card might ask you to do, or how the other players are going to vote.

First to 10 stars wins

As the game continues, players will need to balance their choices, collect stars and decide when to take a chance. The rules are easy to understand, but the route to the finish can change with every spin.

Once a player reaches 10 stars, they win the game. But getting there is all about the decisions made along the way, from choosing a path to stopping at attractions and taking part in Action Cards.

For us, this The Game of Life Junior digital adaptation captures the fun of a family board game night while introducing gameplay designed for younger players. We’re excited for players to spin the wheel, make their choices and see where the journey takes them when Hasbro Games Junior Collection comes to Steam on November 6th, 2026.
