Darkness isn't set dressing here — it's the enemy. HEARKEN has no flashlight, no level lighting to lean on: the only light you'll see is in the lobby. After that, it's just your hearing, the dark, and whatever's hiding in it.

Every run is different: a seeded set of modifiers can flip the rules mid-run — power failing, the world turning fragile, or a total blackout with zero room for error.
