v0.10 Preview | Progression Overhaul & the Everlasting Night Court Raid

Peter

Hello, adventurers! Developer here.

Since launch, I’ve received plenty of feedback about runaway numbers, item level overshadowing build choices, and the lack of meaningful goals later in the game.

I originally designed around roughly 5–8 hours per character. Longer play has shown that the existing progression system cannot support sustained farming well enough.

For v0.10, I’m rebuilding endgame progression and adding a cooperative raid: the Everlasting Night Court.

The goal is to give good equipment a longer useful life and make each step toward a finished build feel worthwhile.

An Overhaul of Endgame Progression

Newly created characters will use a new ruleset:

  • Campaign and item level caps: Campaign progression ends at the finale, Stage 101, with item level capped at 100. The early-game target remains roughly 6–8 hours to reach Nightmare.
  • Torment I–XVI: After the finale, take on higher endgame difficulties for better drops.
  • Reworked Paragon growth: Remove the loop that makes experience gains accelerate without limit, and introduce caps or diminishing returns for combat bonuses.
  • Long-term build progression: At the item level cap, improvements come from affixes, legendary effects, sets, Ancient and Primal quality, gems, and upgrades.

The new progression target is approximately 100–150 hours to reach the endgame goals and complete a strong build. Solo play will remain viable, while raid equipment will help you progress faster.

Paragon level-up messages will also be grouped together, and the stats panel will explain bonuses more clearly.

Keep Your Existing Characters—or Reforge by Choice

Existing characters will not be forcibly compressed. Their equipment, Paragon levels, and progress will remain under the old rules, and you can keep playing them.

If you want to join the new progression system, you can choose “Reforge to New Rules” from the character screen.

  • Progress, equipment stats, and Paragon levels are converted to the new scale. Legendary and set identities, Ancient and Primal quality, gems, and upgrades are preserved.
  • Reforging is a one-way conversion. It requires a second confirmation and automatically backs up the original save for recovery if something goes wrong.
  • Receive a one-time reward of up to 600 Gacha Tickets, based on your Paragon level before reforging.

Raids are available only to characters using the new rules. Existing characters must reforge and meet the campaign-clear requirement before joining. Records for the old and new rulesets will also be kept separate.

A 2–4 Player Raid: Everlasting Night Court

Clear the campaign finale, then gather your friends through Steam friends-only or invite-only rooms.

  • Seven new bosses: Fight your way through the Court to its queen, with new enemies, environments, and equipment icons in the game’s existing pixel-art style.
  • Three difficulties: Normal, Heroic, and Mythic. Groups of three or four will have an easier time; two-player clears will demand stronger gear and class combinations.
  • A target session length of 1–2 hours: Including encounters, boss fights, and equipment auctions.
  • Rare loot and a raid journal: Bosses generally drop one or two items at random. Check the journal for each boss’s class and equipment-slot loot tables.

Combat keeps the familiar auto-battle format. One of the raid’s main attractions begins after the boss falls: bidding for the loot.

Bid using the in-game currency, Ingots. Auction proceeds are distributed immediately after the system tax, with no leader’s cut .

Weekly loot eligibility is tracked separately for each character, boss, and difficulty. Winning an item consumes the corresponding eligibility.

Already used yours? You can still help friends, but cannot bid on that boss’s equipment. Your share of the proceeds is converted into a substantial amount of resources instead.

Warriors and Paladins can also use crowd control to build a shared Stagger meter, creating damage windows for the whole party.

Take Your Raid Gear Back Into Everyday Farming

Court equipment works in the campaign, Rifts, and Torment, including its set bonuses and special effects.

These items are designed to be powerful, lasting rewards. After winning the equipment you wanted, you should feel the upgrade when you return to your usual farming.

Release Plans

The progression overhaul and Everlasting Night Court are planned to launch together in v0.10. Development and testing are ongoing; the release date will be announced later. Numbers and details may change during balancing.

Thank you for your reviews, feedback, and continued support. Let me know in the discussions which parts of farming you most want to preserve, and what goals you’d like to see in the endgame.
