Defensive buildings update

AlexMog

You asked for more ways to defend your territory. The Defensive buildings update brings five new defenses, from early machine gun positions to long-range railguns, alongside combat changes that give upgraded defenses more bite and make oversized formations pay for exceeding their command capacity.

Five new buildings to plan around

  • Machine gun nest | Tier 2 Rapid, close-range fire against infantry and light ground vehicles. An early option for covering ground approaches, with no ammunition required.
  • Coastal battery | Tier 3 Give hostile ships a reason to keep their distance. Built near the coast, these guns engage naval units and consume Munitions when firing.
  • Tank turret bunker | Tier 3 A fortified gun position for fighting armored ground units. Can engage both Water and Land units, consumes Munitions when firing.
  • Anti-tank missile emplacement | Tier 4 Dedicated anti-armor firepower, supplied with the new Anti-tank missiles resource. Unlock Anti-tank Defense research and produce its ammunition at an Advanced Factory .
  • Railgun battery | Tier 5 Heavy firepower against armored ground units and ships, with target acquisition out to 50 km. Its slow firing cycle makes each shot matter, and shared spotting helps it reach targets beyond its own vision. Consumes Batteries when firing.

These defenses have research requirements, construction costs and upkeep.

Your upgrades hit harder

All armed defensive buildings now scale their own weapon damage directly with their completed level: level 10 means ×10 base damage, level 25 means ×25, and level 50 means ×50. That includes existing defenses such as SAMs, bunkers, flak and CIWS, as well as the new buildings. This boosts the building's own weapons. Garrison weapons keep their separate combat stats.

Bigger formations carry a bigger risk

Packing an army into one enormous formation now comes with an immediate damage vulnerability when it exceeds its command capacity. The penalty grows as the formation gets further beyond that capacity. You can see the incoming damage multiplier in the Battalion panel.

That's all commanders, see you at the battlefronts.
