The Big KeepUp Survival Update Is Getting Closer - New Sneak Peeks!
Hello Community!
As previously announced, I'm currently working hard on a major update for KeepUp Survival!
I had originally planned to release the update last week. Unfortunately, that didn't quite work out, as some additional work and adjustments were still necessary.
If everything goes according to plan and nothing unexpected comes up, I hope to release the update later this week! However, this is still a cautious estimate, as unexpected issues can arise at any time during development and may require a delay.
Today, I'd like to give you a little sneak peek at what you can expect from the upcoming update. Of course, I don't want to reveal everything just yet, as I'd like to keep a few surprises for you!
A quick note: Please don't pay too much attention to minor visual issues in the screenshots, such as those involving the crate or the ropes. These images were taken during the testing phase of the new boat. Some details may still change before release.
Finally, Drive a Boat Yourself!
A long-requested feature from the community is finally becoming a reality with this update!
With the upcoming update, you'll be able to take control of a boat yourself for the first time and explore the waters surrounding the island!
You won't simply glide across the water, either. You'll also feel the movement of the boat as it reacts to the ocean waves. This means you'll no longer have to rely exclusively on the automatically operated boats.
A More Lively and Natural Game World
A large part of my work has gone into improving the landscape and environment.
The goal is to make the world feel more natural and alive overall. Grass and bushes now react to your movements, and bushes also produce appropriate rustling sounds when you move through the vegetation.
But be careful: You're not the only one leaving traces in the environment! Animals can also give away their presence by rustling through bushes.
In addition, animal animations have been improved. Animals should now move more naturally, especially when walking uphill or downhill and when turning. Your animal companions have also received several improvements.
Keep Your Eyes Open While Exploring! Of course, even the island's smallest inhabitants shouldn't be forgotten. Keep an eye out, because you can now discover tiny insects even in places you might otherwise overlook.
Vehicles, Horses, and Helicopters
There have also been quite a few improvements to vehicles and horseback riding!
Character movements have been better adapted to vehicles and horses. Arms, legs, and the head now react more naturally to the corresponding movements, such as steering a vehicle or riding a horse.
And yes, the little helicopter has also been reworked and finally supports multiplayer! This means that players joining a game will now be able to fly the helicopter themselves.
With the upcoming update, it may be necessary for you to obtain your existing vehicles again.
The reason for this is a possible rework of the vehicle save system, which could mean that previously saved vehicles may no longer be transferred correctly.
Please note that this has not yet been finalized. If this change does become necessary, I will let you know.
Your Character Is Becoming More Lifelike!
Your character has also received several improvements and will now make you more aware, in their own way, when something isn't quite right with them.
You'll find out exactly what this means when the upcoming update arrives!
HUD and Additional Improvements
The user interface has also been reworked. Various HUD elements have received additional animations and visual improvements.
I'll certainly continue refining these elements in the future. For now, however, I'd first like to hear your impressions and feedback on the changes made so far.
And One More Little Surprise!
There's another new feature I'd like to reveal to you already:
With the upcoming update, you'll also encounter locked doors, vehicles, and containers!
You'll be able to pick their locks using a lockpick or attempt to force them open.
This should make exploring houses and other locations a little more exciting.
That Was Just a Small Sneak Peek!
Of course, this was only a small glimpse of what I've been working on over the past few weeks. There are many more new features, improvements, and bug fixes that I don't want to reveal just yet.
But perhaps the following pictures will say more than my words!
The complete list of changes will be available alongside the major update.
As a solo developer, extensive overhauls like these naturally take a little more time. However, it's especially important to me not to simply leave KeepUp Survival behind, but to continue maintaining, improving, and developing the game step by step. I take the same approach with my other games, because even after release, I want to keep supporting and improving my projects.
Thank you very much for your support, patience, and feedback!
