Update 0.7.9
This update improves progression, resource detection, combat, building, and several interface elements. It also includes important fixes based on community feedback.
Gameplay & Balance
- Oxygen consumption now scales with planetary habitability. The higher the habitability, the less oxygen players consume, reaching zero consumption at 100%.
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 Shovels now dig wider holes. Tier 2 has been increased by 15% and Tier 3 by 30%.
- Shovels, Pickaxes, and Axes can now damage enemies.
- Each tool deals a different amount of damage and loses additional durability when used in combat.
- Melee attacks now apply a small knockback to enemies.
- Item stacks are now capped at 999.
- Rebalanced Polluters and Tree Planters.
- Slowed down overall habitability progression.
Improvements
- The Shovel’s Flatten mode now creates a truly flat surface. The previous behavior remains available as Smooth mode.
- Redesigned the Habitability HUD, as well as the Health, Hunger, Thirst, and Oxygen bars.
- Hunger, Thirst, and Oxygen indicators now pulse when critically depleted.
- Added new audio cues when the player is critically thirsty or running out of oxygen.
- Domes now include a Power Link Rod by default, allowing electricity to pass through them.
- The Tier 3 Rainwater Collector now includes an integrated filter.
- Improved ore generation and optimized several related scripts. Underground ores are now much more common, with occasional veins containing two to four ore deposits.
- Detectors have been reworked and now only detect mineable underground minerals. Tier 1 and Tier 2 Detectors now also display depth indicators.
- Drinking a cola now returns an empty bottle that can be recycled in a furnace.
- Empty food cans can now be recycled into aluminum ingots.
- Removing a machine connected to a cable now returns the cable. Cutting cables with Wire Cutters also returns them.
- Stairs can now snap together.
- Pre-crafted or pre-built items are now correctly counted toward quest objectives.
- Objective progress is now displayed consistently across all languages.
Fixes
- Fixed the Tier 2 Crop Plot collision box that prevented it from being placed correctly.
