Leonardo's Island

Update 0.2.2 — Ramming Is Here!

Danilec

Ahoy, Captains!

A new update for Leonardo's Island is here, and this time I've added something I've wanted to implement for a while — ship ramming!

Until now, your cannons were your main weapons in battle. But now you have another option: your ship itself!

Full Speed Ahead!

You can now ram enemy ships and damage them with the force of the collision. Speed, mass, and the way you hit another ship all play a role in the result.

Sometimes a well-placed hit can be enough to send your enemy straight to the bottom!

But Choose Your Targets Carefully!

Ramming isn't always a good idea, especially when your opponent is much bigger than you!

Charging into a larger, heavier ship might cause more damage to your own vessel than to your enemy.

A New Way to Fight

With this update, naval battles become a little more unpredictable. You can try to finish off a damaged enemy with a powerful collision, escape an approaching ship, or accidentally destroy your own vessel with a badly planned attack!

What's Next?

This is the first version of the ramming mechanics, and I'll continue improving and balancing the physics based on your feedback.

I'm also planning to introduce dedicated ramming parts in the future, giving you more options when designing ships specifically for close combat.

Special Thanks!

A huge thank you to Lucifer for suggesting the ramming mechanics and helping me test them! Your detailed feedback and testing really helped me bring this feature to life!

And thank you so much for sharing that GIF! It really inspired me a lot!

As always, thank you so much for playing, sharing your ideas, and helping me improve Leonardo's Island!

Try the new mechanics, experiment with different ships, and let me know what you think!

Fair winds and following seas!
