Update 0.607 — MOD SUPPORT now available!
- CAR MODS — LIMP MODE now supports car mods. Build your own car, upload it to the Steam Workshop, subscribe to cars from others and drive them in your game.
- MOD KIT IN THE GAME — Main menu › MODS › EDIT opens the Mod Kit: data sheet, body points, looks, gizmo with grid and undo, and a test drive with 0-100, braking distance, quarter mile and turning circle.
- OWN ENGINES, PARTS & RIMS — Mods can bring their own engines, gearboxes, body parts and rims. Mod rims show up in the shops and in loot.
- MODS IN CO-OP — Join a modded server and the game downloads the host's mods for you, with a progress list. They are only used for that session.
- SAFER SAVES — Saves now survive hard crashes and black screens. Broken files are found and repaired from a backup copy.
- STRANDED CARS — A car left behind in someone else's world can always be recalled, right away and for free.
Car Mods & Steam Workshop
- New MODS page in the main menu: every mod with preview picture and a switch, open the mod folder, upload, update and unsubscribe.
- Workshop type Car and Rim. Subscribed mods load on their own; you can turn each one off.
- Mod Kit (MODS › EDIT): change the data sheet, move wheel, seat and light points, set looks, check your mod, take a preview photo and test drive it on a test track.
- Mods can add their own engine and gearbox, own body parts and rims. A rim mod can require a car mod; Steam then installs both.
- Every upload gets a preview picture. Without your own preview.jpg the game takes a studio photo of your car.
- Before the first upload you confirm the mod rules (no real brand names, logos or badges). The Mod Kit and a full guide with templates (car and rim) and example cars are in the game folder under modkit/.
- Co-op: if you are missing the host's mods, the game asks you, downloads them (progress bar, RETRY) and joins. As a guest you use exactly the host's mods, only for that session.
- If a mod you used is gone, your car is swapped for a stand-in car instead of breaking the save.
- Mod updates that add new parts also give them to cars in older saves.
- Shared tracks and boxes from the Workshop are checked before they load.
New
- Radio: new song "Empty Machine".
- Travel guide (Hardcore): new double page about USB sticks.
- Co-op: SELL CAR also works with the host as the buyer. A car you RELEASE is really ownerless now.
Improved
- Lowering springs 30 and 50 now really lower the car by about 30 and 50 mm. A new coilover kit sits about 80 mm lower right after you fit it. Cars that already have one stay as they are.
- AMD RX 5000 graphics cards switch to the Lite renderer once, because they crashed on the full renderer. You can switch back in Options › Video.
- Drift: cash in your drift bag is saved right away.
Fixed
- Your character no longer gets stuck on car corners.
- Feet no longer poke out under the car while seated.
- Cars no longer hang in the air above a lift after loading a save.
- Drag strip: the tire wall at the end is gone.
Note
- Co-op: everyone needs version 0.607.
