Metal Thunder

The One Where 1.0 Gets a Date

Dumbbell Games

Hey Commanders,

It's official. Metal Thunder leaves Early Access on October 29. That's one week from today.

This one took a while. A lot of patches, a lot of late nights and a mountain of your bug reports (seriously, thank you). 1.0 finally has a date, and I can't wait to show you what's been cooking.

Here's a small taste. Full patch notes come on launch day.

Campaign. Yes, it's finally happening. Campaign launches with its first two missions, and more missions will follow after launch.

Metal Zombies. A brand new mode for 1 to 4 players. Defend the HQ through 20 waves of the horde, solo or in co-op. One of you flies the gunship, the others run the ground crew with a drone. Build barricades, turrets, minefields and mortar pits between waves, call in artillery, napalm and gun runs, and run side missions while the base is on fire.

Survival, bigger. New maps to defend: a radar dish up in the mountains, a heli base buried in snow, a church, a factory town and an airfield. Each one plays differently. And yes, you're getting that naval map too.

Hardcore mode. Friendly fire is on and your base can actually be destroyed. All optional. All mean. All love.

A battlefield that fights back. Infantry moves as squads and leapfrogs between cover, tanks pop out, fire and back off, helicopters spin down in flames, and the ground keeps every crater.

A whole new look. New menus, a new Armory and a cleaner HUD.

Your progress carries over. Scores, upgrades, credits, all of it. Nothing to reset.

And the price isn't changing at 1.0. Same game, way more of it.

Mark the date, October 29. If you've been waiting for 1.0 to jump in, or know someone who is, now's the time to grab your squad.

See you in the skies,

-- Tolga
