Update 1.15: New game modes, map editor, world 5 and co-op campaign

Our biggest update so far

Thanks for a great launch! Version 1.15 brings new game modes, a map editor, a fifth campaign world and lots of the little things you asked for.

New game modes

The lobby now has a Rules option:

• Hold the crown – The crown waits in the middle. Wear it for 30 seconds in total to win. Die while wearing it and you drop it.
• Collect coins – Crates drop coins. First to 10 wins – but die and you lose half of them.
• Kick only – No power-ups. Everyone starts with kick, two bombs and fire 3. Pure skill.

Every mode works with teams too – then the team total counts.

Map editor

Build your own arenas: walls, crates, conveyor belts, portals, power-up spots and a crown spot, for the large and the small map, in any of the five themes. Symmetry mirrors every half or quarter automatically, the built-in maps work as templates, and everything can be undone. The editor tells you right away if something is off, and Try it lets you play the map against computer opponents straight away. Your maps show up in the lobby under "Layout" – online, everyone gets the map automatically. The editor is fully playable with a controller.

New maps

Three hand-built maps in both sizes: Cross with conveyor belts to the centre, Four Corners with rooms and portals, and the Cauldron – an open battleground inside a ring of crates.

Campaign: world 5, time attack and co-op

• World 5: Volcano – five new stages with glowing ground and flying sparks. At the end waits the Lava Golem, who makes bombs burst out of the ground all around you.
• Time attack – every stage remembers your best time. Beat the target time to earn a star.
• Two players – the campaign can now be played by two players on one PC.
• The last stage of world 4 was accidentally too easy – now you face the toughest opponents there, as intended.

More fun online and in the lobby

• Emotes – tap the special button for a smile, add a direction for heart, trophy, anger or bomb.
• Game speed – 75 to 150 %: characters, bombs and flames get slower or faster, the round time stays the same.
• Spectate – when joining by IP there is now a "Spectate" button that does not take a player slot.
• Steam friends list – friends see what you are playing and can join your Steam lobby with one click.
• Share replays – export recordings, send them to friends and import them (or just drag them into the window).

Tech and fixes

• New graphics mode: runs much more smoothly on weaker laptops with integrated graphics.
• Replays with umlauts or other special characters in player names could not be loaded – fixed, old recordings are back.
• New Volcano theme, also selectable in the lobby.
